Might be digging out an old thread but, if this problem has been solved please accept my apology for bumping it, but i've had the exact same problem when i updated my nvidia 9800gt to an ati hd5850 recently, now all of a sudden the game has severe issues in opengl with meshes, displaying them without textures almost at all times (or flickering eratically).

However i thought i'd mention i just figured out that when in the advanced settings under the opengl tab i set UseFragmentationProgram=True, all textures display fine... atleast sofar i've tested it yet (30 minutes ingame, no textures dissapearing)

Can anyone else test and see if UseFragmentationProgram=True fixes it?

Not sure if this is same thing, but these two tapestrys in Skytown are completely black.

I think the skytown tapestries are just not being lit up, though i could be wrong.

Try setting their ambientglow and scaleglow and such, see wut happens.

Those tapestries in SkyTown are always black.

I think the black tapestry is more because of the removal of specular lighting in 227, rather then the missing texture bug reported in this thread.

No specular makes the game look alot better, but it does result in these odd mesh rendering artifacts on occasion.

actually its that the meshes are facing the wrong way, if you rotate them 180 degrees in editor they magically light up

Not quite sure how to fix this without breaking something..

This can be fixed with giving two-sided surfaces handle lighting from both directions (depending on which side you stand on).

edit:

Turboman:
Oops, spoke too soon. UseFragmentationProgram=True indeed fixed the problem! UseVertexProgram=False also works.
