Can someone break it down for me SPECIFICALLY, what is the advantage for using 227 over 225 map editing wise?
so if i had a 227 server and ran a 227 map and allowed older clients, i would still have a problem with the older clients connecting to the 227 MAP , right? i just gotta get this burned into my head before i make any changes. thank you kind sirs :D

You can use Zora's converter on 227 build maps or resaved ones. It will make the compatible with 225.

mapping with 227 surely has its advantages, especially once 227g is out with tons of fixes and additions for UED2. See
http://www.oldunreal.com/wiki/index.php ... ease_Notes
for details.
However, no 227 specific feature will be working in older clients (meaning 227 game features, not UED features) and it should be avoided to use those when you want to build a map for pre 227 clients.
Leo successfully tested the converter with 227 maps, but that doesn't mean that a map will be fully compatible in any case, especially when 227 features are used. So be very careful when testing it.
To be on the absolute safe side I'd recommend using 225 for mapping, since those maps are 100% compatible with any version of Unreal.

my strategy has always been keeping it simple, oldunreal 225f maps only, maybe 224 too, not sure if i tested that out. therefore you see the most people, give and take i like it.
