As stated in another topic...i found the ORIGINAL original Unreal Manual...and like...wow
First of all....the story line is like WAY different...and it even has dialogue in it!
and the Rifle? omg...it was called the Assualt Rifle...and secondary was supposed to be a "triple burst of slugs" kinda like somethin that UPAK did with the Carifle.
and dude...it also gives out Hieght, Wieght, and Weapons info on all creatures! did anyone know that a titan is actually 30 ft tall and weighing from about 15 to 16 tons? SO FRICKEN COOL!
Here...i took some pics of it all...and the cover...and of the sketch arts that were in it...which look REALLY good!

Just to say that Unreal Gold has a PDF version of that manual. I also have the original Euro version of it and asides from the covers and a page or two from the back it's the same thing.

You said it changed. That's the only storyline I know of; you're on a prison transport ship, it goes down.

Well that is the basic story line...but this is the first story line for Unreal that i've seen that has dialogue in it
and if u noticed the sketch arts...they all had some writing next to them...like it was you who was talking about it...and alsmost like there were ppl who you were actually fighting along side with. very weird

But as I recall, it didn't give information on every single monster; only a few. But yeah, some of the stuff in there was very different than what Unreal currently is.

wow 4 years ago...god i was fricken hyper...
I still have this somewhere...somewhere...i think it came with the old 205 german version of Unreal I got on eBay or Amazon I think it was. If it's not online anywhere, I wouldn't mind taking pictures of each page and uploading them if you really care that much about it. I gotta find it first though

I have an even more unique version of this manual.
The FRENCH version!
The cover is different, its actually a bunch of in-game pictures put toegther but it looks nice enough. I thought they were all like that actually.
It contains the same story and the same sketches and such.
The quality of the text and such however seems lower on mine, and the book is probably smaller?

That brute looks completely different when compared with the brute in the release; In the manual its face looks like the face of a Skaarj.

Also, I can't reach the sketches of the ASMD, the Nali Healing Fruit and the Jump Boots. Can you please re-post these?

How about just opening the PDF file in your Unreal/Manual directory?

Damn, I never got that.
But I'm pretty much the only person on Earth with not even a cellphone in the place to get that to you. Sorry.
All I can say is, look at this:
http://boutdinoxe.free.fr/LTF/Unreal_1.jpg
The cover of my book is like the box on the left, in fact its exactly like that, except it says "Guide d'utilisation" instead.
I find that strange, because the manual according to that guy looks like that:
http://boutdinoxe.free.fr/LTF/Unreal_3.jpg
Now I do have the small one on the left as is, but the right one? The manual like I just said, doesn't look like that at all for me.
I find that interesting. I could not find a picture of it anywhere on the internet. Maybe Quebec just got a different set of manuals. If the manual wasn't in such an awful state, I'd wager it'd be worth something

Pixelated. They probably used a compressed version so it'll load more quickly, but it was meant for 1998 PCs, and today's ones are much faster and capable of faster results.
