They must be converted to .wav files, mono, 11025 or 22050 Hz. Open Unrealed, open the sound browser and do File=>Import. You can create an .uax package from this or store them into MyLevel.

Ok thanks, I searched all over Google and couldn't find anything.
Ok now I ran into a Wall. I'm getting this Error in the Log.
Log: FactoryCreateBinary: Sound with SoundFactory (0 0 C:\Unreal)
Log: Can't Create FileReader for C:\Unreal
Warning: Can't find File 'C:\Unreal' for Import
ExecWarning: Failed Factoring: NEW SOUND FILE=C;

Not sure if it has been fixed, but as far as I remember, there can be problems if the sound file is not already located in the Unreal/Sounds directory. I don't remember encountering this problem last time I tried, but if it keeps failing, try to put your wav file in Unreal/Sounds before importing if it's not already the case (I suspect it is given your error message mentioning this in the path). Also make sure there are no spaces in the path. If this fail, I have no idea what the problem might be.

does it matter if it's not 22050 or 11025 Hz?

I have it set to 22050 16 bit Mono and its PCM UnCompressed.
Also there are no Spaces or Symbols.

as you post said
"C;Unreal Anthology\UnrealGold\Sound\Sound.wav"
is clearly a long path with a space in it,
and your error Warning: Can't find File 'C:\Unreal' for Import
Shows me without a doubt it is failing when it gets to that space in your path...
Try placing the wav file in your c:/ root or a low level folder like c:\unreaRES\ and importing it , Unreal Really, Really , Really hates both spaces and long paths in sound imports...... somthing you just need to deal with due to the engine....

Yeah I found that Online and put the Sound File into the Root Directory Folder of C:/ and it worked. So it must be a Bug with UED.

Sorry I'm late with the info:
MP Tracker

"wave & mp3 to umx"
There's a nice html tutorial in the zip.

Uhm, actually, if you want to use it in 227, you just import the MP3 directly (just select the importing dialog to show all files). Done. And you get a lot better compression than doing it the hacky way through WAVs. The "no spaces in filename" rule still applies, though.

This is very usefull, but it applis only for musics, not for sounds, which have different rules.
@GreatEmerald => Importing mp3 files gives me silent sound files.

That's odd. But even if that doesn't work, you can always convert your MP3s to OGG and import those directly.

Doesn't work either for me. Are you sure these are not only for music files and not sound files ?
EDIT : well dots settled it. Thanks for the info.

Follow the instructions to prep the file for importing. So prep the file. If you want to import that file as a .uax then do it. Convert the .mp3 etc into a wave and make sure it's set up as per the tutorial. Import the file as you need it. Let me know if it actually works.

I also see little use of mp3 or ogg in sound, as these only have to be mono and wav should be sufficient for all sound needs in matter of size- quality is no question anyway for wav, as its uncompressed.

I got it to work my guess is its a Bug with the Editor i had to drop My Sound Files into C:/ Root Directory then Import them into the Editor from their.

Not a problem. I was kind of worried that i would have to Reinstall Unreal knowing that I've done alot in Unreal ED and losing your Changes is heartbreaking.

I have 22050hz sound and I would like to import it to UED but with no results. Direction from I am importing it, is my desktop. Do I need to import them only from sounds folder?? I remember before I was using 227 I haven't got problems with importing wav sounds into UED after I have converted it into 22050hz sound.

especially the older versions suffer from the path length. Since Desktop is often having long paths its most likely the cause of your problems. Move the sound to something like D:\Sounds for example and see if it works from there

Yea, you need to import it from a path that has no spaces in it and that is not long. On modern Windows (NT 6.0 and higher) and on any Linux systems the Desktop folder should not have a space in its path, so it should be possible to import sounds from there. But the path length limitation may still apply.
