Captcha difficulty/Return to Na Pali is misisng death messages.

The title pretty much clarifies what this is about. I start a new game in Unreal and it works fine for death messages, yet in the Upak it doesn't work. Until recently I thought everyone had the same problem, until I saw some youtube videos with it working. I have checked my Unreal.ini, but either don't know what to change or can't find anything that deactivates it in this specific campaign.

Also, a bit off subject, but as this is my first post I also wanted to bring up the captchas. Did anyone else ever notice that they were extremely difficult? I easily went through 20-40 trying to register. Other websites have them easily legible at least, but this site makes it almost impossible to read. Maybe its just me, but I am surprised I made it past the registration stage.

they DeathMessages depend on the gametype also, so this is maybe the cause.

For the captchas, no you are not the first, I indeed had in the past months another report yet with the same problem. I personally find it difficulty to read, but far from being that hard as you describe.
The last time I changed it a bit in the hope it would make things a bit easier, but this combination still seems to cause trouble. Thanks for this feedback, will have to change it a bit more it seems.

I assume the gametype would be UPackSingleplayer? The only four options I see are to eliminate enemies (false of course), eliminate bots (true of course), Coop weapon mode (false) and Classic death messages (Which I have switched back and forth to attempt to reset it to no avail.)

Couldn't you just make the captchas letters without the noise? Other websites get by with just that, and I don't think OldUnreal would be victimized as much as those. Honestly it was extremely difficult to read; my saving grace was by attempting to save the image and try to read the captcha in a thumbnail display (for some reason that got rid of the noise, but certain characters were still a pain like capital G and 6 which kept insisting on coming up. Eventually I made it, but if it wasn't for my determination I probably would have quit a while before.)

I reduced the noise a bit more again and gave it more contrast, it's better readable now.
Unfortunately you are wrong with your assumption, it was without noise before and we had a lot of these spam and pornbots...

What I meant with gametype is playing it in Coop instead of Singleplayer.
But to play UPak in Coopmode without trouble you need an additional mod/fix like

Really? That's pretty surprising actually, to think the bots would even bother with this site. I knew there would be some bots still, but I thought a basic captcha would stop them. How can they get through if it is a unrecognized font?!?

Why do you need a fix for coopmode? At first I thought you were talking about Jcoop, Hypercoop, or Mcoop (don't really understand what they are besides modifications to basic coop, which nobody supports in servers). But a fix to the actual gametype? What level is broken?

Also, that brings up another statement. There are very few servers that don't have a large amount of mods besides your own. I think it is either some one in Australia or this. However, I do experience a high ping rate every time I try to connect to Scomak's server (The Old Unreal Community).

Yes, I seem to realize my questions bring up more. I am pretty bad with that actually. Hope you don't mind.

It's a bot. It doesn't care. It just wants to post everywhere. Everywhere. There are ways for bots to decode captchas.

Interesting seeing the comment on the capture image. I also had major issues trying to decode it. I must have tried 30 times to try and work it out.
Good to hear it's been 'tweaked'!

Related , Dispite the easy to guess unreal related captha's on the oldunrealwiki , i just spent 25 attempts with it telling me missing or incorrect confirmation code every time even if i know it was the obvious correct words. not worth the effort to retype my info into the fields another 20 time to try and register to discuss a topic so screw it...

I just tested out the new captcha... it looks even worse, unless my eyes adjusted after quite a few attempts. I can't even see a letter to be honest  :-?
