Ok, so when do you use automag and when do you use minigun?

I think I never really use the minigun. It just wastes my ammo. If it had 400 ammo and used different ammo type, then maybe I would prefer it.

Now if I need to deliver damage faster than automag, I have other weapons than minigun to fill that purpose. I don't even use the automag secondary fire, except if the skaarj got so close I can smell his breath.

Use the altfire on something big and up-close. Like a Titan or a warlord or a queen

Use the automag to kill things from very far away and need pinpoint accuracy.

Use the minigun when you want to have fun because it's cool whereas the automag sucks.

The minigun primary fire is surprisingly accurate for some reason.

At the point you have the Minigun, automag is kind of silly. It is nice for ammo conservation, but you're conserving ammo for what..? A weapon that kills WAY too slowly.

So, later in the game, I only use it as a finisher. The minigun has a much better DPS.

For long distance accurate combat, i use the automag since you can deal out accurate timed shots.

For close range i prefer the minigun, as i can deal out such an immense amount of damage with the alt mode plus locking my target in a "stun" as well.

minigun is useful on dm maps, deals a lot of damage quickly, and as someone noted the primary fire is pretty accurate even from a distance.

Well, since this thread was bumped, I'll just contribute to it.
I prefer the "blender" (doesn't it remind you of one? ) over the Automag, when there is more than just one enemy or when there is a stronger enemy.
However, in RTNP I prefer the CAR over the Minigun.

It's hard to chose between minigun and automag. But after DualMag mutator was released, and it was used for almost all Coop servers, I preffer Automag. Primary fire is a executor in every distance. Secondary.... hmmm it is hard to explain how powerful it is in secondary fire, hovewer it's a real mother-f*cker ammo eatter.
