Why yes, it's being worked on, nice for you to mention that
I have to agree with the comments there, though. The beginning and ending are fantastic-sounding, but the middle... It lacks ambience. It feels like there is nothing in the background. In the MOD, it had what I call "radiance" - continuous note/set of notes performed by an instrument (in this case, strings) in the background to enhance the epic feeling. Here, it's missing, and it definitely shows. Actually, it's not missing, as much as it disappears. It is there at 0:07, and fades out to nothing by 0:13.
Now if that was compiled into an actual MOD again, it would be interesting to hear it while the original (or the enhanced) flightcastle is being displayed.

I really like it, ... but mod music nowadays?? Please, ... come on!
And if you want to hear it ingame, download/record it, convert it to ogg, import and replace the current track! Do not forget to be happy at the end! Most important!

Why yes, there is nothing wrong with MOD music nowadays. MODs are a lot lighter than full-blown Wave audio, they contain note data for easy reference, they are easy to edit intrument-by-instrument, note-by-note (which is impossible for Wave audio) and their quality and overall feel can be changed by switching audio samples on the fly. The only downside of using MODs instead of Wave audio is that you need a MOD interpreter.
And true, 227 does support wave audio now, I forgot that...

Made me want Siren (or Sandman, Chromatic Dragon, FunkyRustic, whatever you would rather call him...) to remake another track, maybe NightVision (the full version from the '96 KFMF tech demo, not the shortened version from Unreal), Unreal Desert Flight Mix, Commencement, Dusk Horizon, Shared Dig, Nali Chant, Ruins (more known as Unreal Crypt), Solitary Silhouette, Underworld, Tarwell, Unreal Suspense, Foundry (especially the action segment), Black Wind, Starship One, Cryox, Magnus, The Walking (Gala's Peak), Escape from Na Pali (RTNP Ending), ExtremeEnd, or the main theme of Unreal (the one you hear in the ending sequence).

Oh my God, that was... amazing. So nostalgic. I'm listening to his other tracks and all of them remind me of Unreal somehow. It doesn't matter that those tracks are unrelated to Unreal.

It sounded VERY influenced by the theme to the 'Game of Thrones' TV series. The use of the drums, etc.
I like it !!
