AkimboMM and Unreal Server

Ok, first, love the work you guys are doin here at oldunreal :) Always in my bookmarks, and where I come to get anything I need Unreal releated..

Now, here's the problem.. I've got myself a dedicated server box. Running Unreal Gold, patched to 227h, in server mode. I also have Bane's AkimboMM mod installed. It doesn't seem to matter how I launch the game, but the Multimag texture simply will *not* show up at all when playing via my server. They show up when playing offline.

It doesn't seem to matter what version I have installed, and the clients and server are always patched to the same version.

Any ideas at all?

EDIT: I should note that the item itself DOES appear, and I *can* shoot with it, it's just not visible lol

sure your ServerPackages are correctly set for this mod?

Yup...
[Engine.GameEngine]
CacheSizeMegs=256
UseSound=True
...
ServerPackages=AkimboMM
ServerPackages=UnrealIntegrity227
That was the first thing I did.. It doesn't even appear when I i connect from the server to unreal://localhost.. I know this used to work, but that was from Unreal classic (224, and 225f)

well, if playing on the same machine or not, this doesn't make a difference here as long you are connecting to a server.
Also, 227h doesn't work any different than previous versions :)

Tried myself with
ServerPackages=AkimboMM

and started up the server with:
Unreal.exe dmradikus.unr?mutator=AkimboMM.AMMMute?game=UnrealShare.DeathmatchGame -server

Seems to work fine here like that (using 227h).

[smiley=embarassed.gif] I'm an idiot lol.. I installed Unreal Gold, and Unreal Anthology, to different folders on the server.. Had AkimboMM and 227 installed to my UGold folder, but the shortcut for my Unreal server was linked to the Anthology folder heh.. On that that, I didn't have the AkimboMM in the ServerPackages.. But it's working now.. Thanks for the ideas tho :)

I'd just like you to note that Anthology unreal is net incompatible with all other versions.

Really? What did they change to make it incompatable? As far as I can tell from the installation folders, it's just UGold (226) UT GOTY (436), U2 and UT2k4 all rolled into one installer..

Not saying you're wrong, just asking what's changed..

pretty much the same nonsense Legend did way back, in this case it was just there stupid idea of putting an own logo in it and being to ignorant to simply conform it.

They also changed something in Engine.Decoration, when a non-anthology version attempts to connect, an error of "Cannot find function in file "Engine.decoration..." and I can't remember exactly what function now, but I am sure it was an unnecessary change.

And yes, this means that out of the box, Unreal Anthology was net incompatible with all existing servers. Brilliant move eh?

Yup. Meaning that people would be "forced" to go out and buy the newer version. The reality of it, however, is that a LOT of people simply stopped playing Unreal, and moved on to something else.

It's a shame, but it happens...

The community quickly released a small patch to change anthology to gold within days/weeks of release so nothing really changed.
