What does the "OldWeapons" option do in 227h?

There's a tick box on the installer for 227h for OldWeapons, what does this do.

I want to keep the original weapons as they were without the patches for single player, does that mean the box should be ticked or not? or does it matter for single player?

well, depends. OldWeapons mod is a modification to play with the weapons as they were with Unreal 200, as it was released. Epic decided to change the weapons later (in 209? no idea, forgot it), so if you are used to the Weapons from Version 224 and higher, like most people do, you don't need it.

As far as i know, the OldWeapons Mutator replaces the new
sounds from version 20x on with old weapon sounds, wich allows you to obviously replace the sounds.

I use it every once in a while to remind myself of the old days.

That is a mod, which changes Unreal weapons' sounds to original sounds, which were shipped in Unreal's first release, version 200 (unpatched original Unreal in year 1998).

If you want to bring up a server with OldWeapons, remember to add it to ServerPackages.
