Why Unreal Service is down  It was a one of the best general Unreal site. 

Who ran it?

IIRC it was "Micro".

Never head of that one.

Yes, unfortunately, using english is the only way to be really influencial and well-known.

I can't believe. Micro's tutorials teached me work with UnrealED . That was a really good site.

I remember unreal service, didn't they once made an "unreal fan trailer" that got spread around everywhere? that one was cool.

Anyway its very sad to see another website dissapear, but thats how things go .
More then a decade ago i learned the gripes of unreal and unrealed from a (Belgian?) Dutch speaking unreal community, where even some industry names visited. The place grew in (local) popularity, but then just went down and never heard a thing about it anymore.

That's the most disheartening thing in a community as old as Unreal's one : over time, everything ends up closing, and after so much years, everything that disappears is an important part of the community.

I only removed NaliCity from my bookmark a couple of weeks ago. I clung to the hope it would re-open for years, but a few months ago they stopped pretending and just redirected it to BeyondUnreal. I can't but think of all the great maps you will never find anymore and all the content, tests and stuff I discovered there.

You know its a damn bloody shame that everything has to end this way. Its like an old man with Alzheimer, it dies slow and painful. Thinking about the good times, there are just too many to think of. To me, every day and even the bad ones were still good memories. It blows me away it has been longer than 10 years since I started. I had to of been a very addicted kid to not forget this game. If anyone asks me when I get to be an old geezer, what was the most fun thing you did when you were a kid? I'd immediately say Unreal, it was my bread and butter without a doubt. Though I haven't been a damn wiz at the editing part for so long, I probably wouldn't have much good in me. It being the only resort when being angry at school, or not having friends to talk to. Good Game OLDUNREAL!

---btw, this may be one of the last badass original Unreal websites that will die off... keep this place juiced up!

UnrealService was the biggest site in Poland about Unreal (and with good design). But this website died long time ago - no news, new articles, maybe one or two 'active' forum members. In years 2000-2005 UnrealService has many active users, it was a boom for Unreal Community in Poland, all polish Unreal players knows this website adress (unreal.ebox.pl at start  ). Micro and CaroPL - two best polish servers in this years (Caro site was down too some times ago). Micro (UnrealService admin and author) keeps site on servers long after US died. Some time ago I wrote on US forum about reanimation Unreal Community in Poland  Only Old Unreal left as big place for U gamers - i finished Unreal yesterday, this game still live and is perfect (with 227 patch and S3TC textures and OldSounds ).

Oh man, the good old days. I remember technostalgia.net... it was probably the best vanilla coop server on Unreal, but then I remember reading on their site that the server owner had some electrical problem and the machine itself shorted out.

Yeah, Root's server got hit by lightning =\ was a real drag.
