I wanted to throw that in a seperate thread how to sort out what you buy. In general most offers on Ebay have stock pictures, and might show the picture from retail Unreal boxes, UnrealGold or totally unreal.

In 99.9999 of those case they only are jewel cd's and do NOT come in a carton box !!! The only real offers are the people that take their own photos that actually show the box they come in. And as you can see in the above offers, they are all unique photos and not stock pictures. So if you look for retail carton versions only look at homemade photos and disregard any offer with stock pictures.

And indeed, two of them are banged up beyond believe and will only disapoint you, so its disadviced to buy them, the others you could make a lower (but still decent) offer. And if these are not ok, in time others will show up, since they are regularly offered.

But it always goes, look for homemade photos and study them good to see if they match the quality you want(and carefylly read the description), and if unsure what it is, mail the seller upfront you buy it for additional questions. Better be safe than sorry.

I will keep your advice in mind if i buy something, and yes it seemed the best to me to only buy items that have homemade pictures.
That way i can already see a bit of in what condition the item is.
I do have 1 question you told me there is the prody version of unreal you have and there is 1 more special version leo has, do u have any pic or something of it so i can keep an eye on that please?

I still dont have FTP access to my sites, but i will upload it when i do. Leo provided me a bunch of photos, but they are a bit unsharp(due to unsteady hands caused by his health)

So are you gonna try get the Prody version ?

Well i really liked to add that to my collection so i contacted the seller and bought the item.
As you click the link you can see its gone now, thx for being so fair giving me a chance to buy it. ;)

Yeah, i just noticed its sold. Normally i dont mind sharing items with others, that is if i dont want it myself. So ill be honest, i wont ever tell about items i want myself :).

But in the past i gave a link to a printed windowed version to both(two different auctions that is) Pittbull and BreakadanceJ. And i dont know BreakadanceJ bought his copy, Pittbull did on his link. Both were in pristine condition as far as i know. And seeing the history they surface each 12 months or so.

But make sure he sents out Prody/Unreal in a jewel case and bubblewrap.

Yeah it was pristine condition Diehard, however the person who shipped it used a box that previously contained gourmet coffee. The package ended up in Philadelphia at customs and was opened and inspected because it was suspected to be containing drugs. The top left corner has a slight crease because of that. It's still in very good shape aside from the slight crease.

What a story, all that for a game ;).
Well i also got the boxed version with the stickers (those normally come loose easy).
Contacted all sellers to ask them to pack with care and now its wait..... lets hope they end up in my mailbox in 1 piece.
Would be a shame if i just spend 198,09 $ on some broken stuff :D.

Thats why you have to look at the picture and ask the seller the question if its a boxed version before buying something.
That way you will recieve axactly what you want and not what you expected to get.

Yeah, only look at homemade photos! And just as important check multiple countries to compare prices. And also if its too expensive simply have patience. Sooner or later it will show if its not listed.

All together you have to be patient, shipping from the US and England is really fast and it should arive within a couple a days or a week. For whatever reason if i get something from Germany that can take up to 5 weeks to arive. Somehow the German mail is horrible slow. Australia can go either way, sometimes it arives in a week while other items can take 4 weeks to arive.

So the 3 music Cd's i got from the German Ebay 2 weeks ago likelly will arive in another 2 or even 3 weeks, which halfway March.

But buying items, if its bad quality, with a bit patience a good copy will show up. Just check ebay on a weekly or monthly base.

I just won the bid on the (presumably) retail version of the Unreality Expansion set:
Image I already had the CD version but not the a corton boxed version. Effectivelly they all are bootlegs and theres a bunch of them around.

Right now no clue which i miss out but i know i dont have them all. So far i got these:
Image
I will add those to the site as well, including a full ISO from each CD. And no, that is not breach of copyright since the CD's are bootlegs, and no-one is allowed to sell Unreal made content according Epics EULA. Therefore it can only be shareware, which is what the disk contains.

With this new item i got tree items that have as name Unreality and i never checked the disks i already have so nu clue if the content is the same, though i doubt it.

Oh! I've heard of those but have never seen them before in my life. I've always figured that they just mixed minor content for them with regular Unreal. Do tell if there is anything different.

Edit: A search on them gives no useful information. Huh. Guess you'd be the best source for it then as the internet has failed me. XD

Very interesting collection, never heared of those cd's before but oh well probably becouse those are just bootlegs.
Maybe in the future i can add those to my collection too but im not sure since its just shareware from diffrent companies, i only want official unreal stuff.
I am going to download it when you make it avayable online, wanna see what kind of mod/expansion this is.
A search on them gives no useful information. Huh. Guess you'd be the best source for it then as the internet has failed me. XD
Probably becouse those are not official products and made on small scale?
Or are they usermade?

Btw: i did found the unreal US cd's with official jewelcase and manual on ebay, but there are no carton boxes with them what is a pitty.
Any chance getting the boxes seperatly or should i wait till there shows up a boxed version of them.

Well at least you know better now next time, and rely on homemade photos. But retail carton versions show up regularly, so not all is lost.

Interesting - couldnt your site as well have a nice

Isnt monsterhunt specific for UT? And there are skins on the site bor both Unreal and UT. For UT go here:

UT Skins Though i noticed the downloads for UT are broke, ill have to fix that.

For Unreal go here:

Unreal Skins

and

Maybe in the future i can add those to my collection too but im not sure since its just shareware from diffrent companies, i only want official unreal stuff.

Its simple, i bought them because i wanted to know what was on them, and to have my collection complete. but the main reason i still try to get them is because of the site.

Apart from that, there is no reason why anyone should wanna buy them, they are all utter c r a p and nothing more. What they did was they collected usermade content like maps and such from the net and threw them on CD.  And the one CD is even worse than the other. Like the big red box version, that CD only contains a louzy txt file  ::)

And all those CD's were officially sold in stores and thereby legal. Well, not really because you are not allowed to commercially sell any homemade content according Epic's EULA. You are only allowed to offer them for free with no charge. And it shows on the boxes, they carefully avoid using the Unreal font(or made a similar looking font) and also say its for the "unreal game", which could be any game. They also use pictures that are totally unrelated to Unreal and no actual screenshot can be found on them.

So those are "official" store releases, but can be concidered bootlegs. And i am not gonna stop you from buying them, but trust me, it will never be an interesting item to have, plain said they are utter c r a p, and nothing more. Better spend your money on actual cool Unreal stuff :)

Complete retail boxes should at least contain follow:

Unreal Retail Box
Image
Unreal MAC Retail Box
Image
Than a box will contain either CD:
Image
The same aplies for the printed windows version. This means there are 12 different US retail versions. The Unreal MAC boxes can also have an extra box containing either a coffemug, a mousepad or a T-Shirt. I am uncertain if all MAC boxes had them or only a few.

If you find part of the content on Ebay, than it means that the seller lost all other items. And as far as i know, the US only sold retail boxes, so even if you see a single CD, than it once was part of an entire retail box. And likelly you will find the seperate CD and booklet allot, but the box alone will rarelly show up if ever. But it could.

In reality the only way to get a complete box is to buy a complete box  ;)

Aw, as I figured. I guess nothing rare either, eh? Figures.

Well I have the original UnrealGold and Unreal. Got them back when they were still new. Same with Unreal Tournament '99 GOTY. I am happy now that I was such an obsessive collector of PC games. XD

I will keep an eye on that but how do i look it up on ebay? like sound blaster unreal search?

Thank you for posting the pics of the box, now i can check if all te games i recieve are complete.

Why is it that only the mac versions have a t-shirt with it, or are those somekind of special mac editions with t-shirt?
Would not be fair towards pc gamers that but the pc version and don't get a shirt and mac users do get it.
Not that it really matters becouse most of them probably come without t-shirt since they are used games but just out of curiousity.

Just search for Unreal and it should show up if available.

PC users did get the merchandise folder where they can order the merchandise. And for the MAC users, i could asume they pay more the game.

How rare is that t-shirt anyway?
Its pretty rare, BreakadanceJ has one, and hes a lucky guy because he has the box and the t-thisrt still in shrinkwrap brandnew.

I do have the extra box the t-shirt came with, but its pretty banged up, but i do have the t-shirt in mint condition.

And i need to refrase a bit what i said earlyer, i not sure if there was a combination with a coffeemug. Simply because the box aint large enough to contain something that thick. But it could also be they used a larger package, so i simply dont know. But the combination with a T-Shirt or a mousepad is confirmed, those do excist and there are photos from both.

What the hell is with that poster?

Dante, Gina... UT99 Red flag, UT pulserifle, Automag, Bluff's Nali cross...

Further proof of the fact that UT99 was supposed to be an unreal expansion, or someone who made art having no idea what they were doing.

@diehard, I have a pretty damn near mint condition tshirt sitting in my closet, the only problem is a lack of pigment on Epic games logo.. an old friend gave me the shirt a while back.

Ah right now i recall, BreakadanceJ wanted to buy yours :)

For all goes(T-shirt, coffemug, baseball cap and mousepad) they can be recreated. The one more easelly than the other, but its possible. That too was part of the project to have them available again. But again healthissues prevented me from working on them.

Here are scans from the original ones:
Image Image
Needless to say the coffemug is very easelly to reproduce and so is the mousepad. I have been working on the last quit a bit in the past and i simply need a btter screenshot.

Image The poster is a bit more complex mainly due to the stuff on the very background. But at the end it should be possible as well.
The poster was original with the tournament text, but I remade the other text and thingy find the type style.

Yeah like Casey i also thought it looks like UT and not Unreal.

Last days i won bids on 4 items on Ebay, and the last one i already had, but its sealed and i didnt want to break the seal. But now i got another which i am gonna wear and its the Unreal Dogtag
