unreal collection

Post by pickledegg »

Hello peeps,
I could use some help getting my unreal collection complete and i mean only unreal 1 by this.
I shopped loads online and at stores all over belgium and the netherlands and i can't seem to find more unreal1 stuff than only a couple of intact game boxes and more.
So i whas wondering if any of you guys could help me by posting pics of unreal 1 stuff such as t-shirts, games (all diffrent boxed versions), mugs,... all you can think about, so i can check what i still need and maybe never seen before this also includes demo's.
Or maybe you have something up for sale!!!! like maybe the RTNP pack ive been looking for, not the totally unreal version, ugold or anthology version but the separate version of it.
help will be greatly appreciated!!!

Regards -Pickledegg

Yo Pickledegg.

I don't really have any collectable Unreal merchandise, only the games themselves, of which I suppose the most collectable things I got are the original 100 version, and a German 205 version.  Oh and a MAC version floating around somewhere...

EDIT: Oh just remembered I have that super old manual, but I don't really think that's rare or collectible or anything.

Hey Shivaxi,
Well the manual is not really a rare collectible but i never seen that one before :o
Any chance you have a double of it or want to sell it to me, as it seems to be an interesting thing to have.

No clue what the problem is. I uploaded them directly to Old Unreal then. If this doesn't work I'll email them to you directly. I assume your email listed here is working?

Fingers crossed.   :)

The 1st image I can say exists as I have it. I found it on ebay. (thanks to Diehard) I bought it because it had the manual. I just found out theres a book as well called Unreal Hard Crash. I found a copy on ebay for 4.99 us dollars. Amazon has it listed for 19.99. Needless to say I bought it. Below is a picture of the book.

Actually there are two books, the other being "Prophet's Power" by Dean Wesley Smith. And a few things to know before reading them:
The author, Ryan Hughes , June 30, 1998
Not my fault!
Many readers of "Hard Crash" might have felt that the book seemed to start in the middle of things and jump around a lot on its way to an ending. If they get to PROPHET'S POWER, book #2 in the Unreal series, they will find the beginning of the story, rather than a continuation.

There's a very simple explanation for all this. The covers got swapped in publication. As for the jumping around within each book, well, Dean Wesley Smith and I each wrote a single book, but they were shuffled together chapter-by-chapter and divided in half again to make two volumes in the series. We knew that was going to happen, so we planned the chapters to compliment each other; we just didn't expect the covers to be swapped or the bylines to read "Ryan Hughes" on one and "Dean Wesley Smith" on the other rather than both names on both books.

One last little snafu: chapters 14 and 15 of HARD CRASH got switched with chapters 16 and 17. Read 16 and 17 first, then go back and read 14 and 15.

I know it sounds like a total disaster, and believe me, from the author's viewpoint it feels like it, but Dean and I do feel that we wrote a couple of decent books. If you want to read what WE wrote, in the way we wrote it, then get both books, start with PROPHET'S POWER and read just the "First Occupation" sections, then continue with the "First Occupation" sections in HARD CRASH. That will be Dean's book. Then go back to PROPHET'S POWER and read the "Second Occupation" sections, and finish off with those sections in HARD CRASH. That will be my book. (Don't forget the two chapters out of order.)

I know, I know, it shouldn't take a road map to read a book! Presumably when they reprint these they'll fix the problem, but for now, that's the way to get the best reading experience.

My thanks to everyone with the patience and/or interest to try it that way--I sincerely hope you enjoy the books.
Good books in my opinion, and something I think Unreal fans would enjoy. :)

Yes both boxes do excist and there are alot more than those actually. Theres also tons of merchandise around that still can be found. But the Unreal retail box Pittbull has is the version where the window is printed on the box, while most of the Unreal retail versions have an actual window cut out of the box. The one with the window printed is very, very rare, and if you see one, better go make a bid on it.

Actually its one of the largest projects i am working on aside the URP/UTRP projects. In effect i am trying to add a super large section to the UnrealTexture website that will have all info, pictures, photos, downloads, merchandise and whatever is outhere. As usual the main problem is my health otherwise that part of the site would have been completed for the bigger part long time ago.

But in order to get all that stuff on the site i needed to have the actual copies from everything that has been released for Unreal. I am also an Unreal collector so its hitting two flies at the same time. I get my collection bigger and at the same time it offers the possibillity to add it to the site.

Though most pages are disfunctional it does offer a view what should be there and much, much more:

http://www.unrealtexture.com/Unreal/Web ... BoxArt.htm

http://www.unrealtexture.com/Unreal/Web ... Shadow.htm

I am pretty sure i have the largest collection worldwide and its still steadelly growing. Right now i am awaiting 3 new music CD for Unreal to arive that were published in the past. Dont know whats on them, they could contain Unreal music or Unreal music from the entire Unreal series. I only know they were released in 1999, 2001 and 2002.

Right now i am also in the progress to obtain copies from Unreal from a variaty of countries, but negotians goes slow. Among that is also a copy from the Chinese Unreal where theres both an Unreal and RTNP available.

But i guess the masterpiece of my collection is this energy drink that was given out to various companies to promote Unreal. There were only made 100 of them, so its possible its the only one left worldwide. I actually made a 74 Euro bid on it, but i got it for 21 Euro and 10 Euro shipping, so 31 Euro in total, but its worth it :)

Image

But all together i am working getting versions from Unreal from 12 different countries i dont have yet. Right now i cant tell too much about it, to prevent problems with the negotiations. But ill see if i can at least give a bunch of tips from how to get and how to deal with sellers abroad.

But it all depends if i feel well enough to post.

Keep in mind that the site is faaaaar from complete, though i think all retail carton boxed versions are on that page except the Chinese versions and the Totally Unreal retail carton boxed version with a brown color.

But never say never and maybe you indeed have an unknown version, and in that respect it never hurts to post a photo from it.

Yeah i still need to get the brown carton boxed version. Though the black one thats in that picture likelly is the same one, just the picture looks more black. It also might be the DVD sized jewel case, cause that one is also around. And from the shape it might look like a box but its simply a DVD sized jewel case.

The windowed version currently is being offered on Ebay several times:

Retail carton boxed(Windowed) Unreal MAC version(pretty banged up):

Retail carton boxed Unreal MAC

Retail carton boxed(Windowed) Unreal version(looks pretty good but pricey and stickers on them):

Retail carton boxed Unreal 01

Retail carton boxed(Windowed) Unreal version(box has two large tears in them which almost splits the box in half, so its ruined, and rediculous expensive, even the more seeing its condition):

Retail carton boxed Unreal 02

Retail carton boxed Unreal version(Looks in real good condition, cant see if its the windowed or printed windowed version. You need to ask if you can buy it seperate from the lot. All together this might be the best one offered at this moment):

Retail carton boxed Unreal 03

Retail carton boxed UnrealGold version(looks like very good condition, and he has more copies and price is very, very , very ok :) ):

Retail carton boxed UnrealGold

From the same guy a jewel case Unreal including manual for a good price(the guy has alot more stuff so check the store) Make note that this offer does not have the original jewel case seeing its green, but you simply can replace that. It also means these were items that originally came in the retail carton boxed version.

Jewel Case Unreal including manual

This is an interesting item for any collector, though the price is pretty high and should not be more expensive than less than 10 dollars. But alla, its relative rare. Its the Prody Parrot/Unreal Special Edition from Creative labs. There are 2 known versions of those and this is one of them. I have this model and LeoTCK has the other model which i am still looking for.

Prody Parrot/Unreal Creative Labs Special Edition

I do a plea to honesty, if PickledEgg wants the Prody/Unreal let him have it since he started this thread. And it will turn up again, as it does each 6 months or so................

If you buy any of them keep follow in mind. For the retail carton boxes you have to have it shipped out in a good carton box with plenty of space. If its sent out in bubble wrap than this happens: Ruined and destroid retail box

If you buy a CD make sure they put it into a jewel case if it hasnt (like Prody Parrot/Unreal) and have it sent out in a bubble wrap enveloppe. If its only a bubblewrap it still will be able to bend and thereby break in half....

I never have it insured and have them pick the cheapest shipping rate. If you require extra packaging than also tell the seller you are ok with the additional cost!!!! (which in general isnt much more, maybe 1 or 3 bucks) And simply tell them you dont mind what box it is, wheater its a banana or winebox, as long as its strong and large enough to safelly contain the retail packaging.

Also on international sales mail them upfront and ask if they are ok sending it to another country, and just say its after all only a different adress and a tad more on shipping which you of course are willing to pay for! So ALWAYS offer upfront to pay the additional packaging and extra shipping cost.
