Did any1 ever know that ALL,including UT2003/4/6/7 engines
even the Unreal engine 4 which is soon to come, is in truth one
the same engine?
Elaboration:
Put bluntly these 'new generation engines' are just added script to the U1 engine.
That just has to stir yer coffee, don't it

Epic just build upon their current version and add new features/fix bugs etc...
The earliest build of the Unreal Engine I know of is the 1998 beta, which is build 42. Compare that with games like Bulletstorm that uses build 742.

Yeap, it's the same engine yet it keeps getting modified so it's hardly the same at this point. But this fact is still a major factor in Epic's decision not to release the source code - that way you would know how some of the things in UE3 work.

Which makes Smirf incredibly lucky to have the src

And Carmack said there were still pieces of Quake 1 code in the Source . Everyone likes expanding on old engines. Don't reinvent the wheel.

The newest Deus Ex game was built upon an engine way more unstable and un-optimized than the Unreal Engine 1. Its been heavily modified since by the team to make it work around the game itself.

Do you mean
Invisible War or
Human Revolution?

This video made me not like DX:HR anymore
Highlighting everywhere, seemingly blind guards, experience system for killing stuff as opposed to achieving goals, etc. They might still be able to salvage it for me.. but .. after looking at DX:IW.. ouch
