Epic Games president, Mike Capps, reiterated what Epic has previously said in an interview with IGN, stating that Epic wont ever be developing games for the Wii. Its not about the success of the platform to him, but what can be done on it. When asked whether there would ever be a time when Epic would be forced to give in and create a game for the Wii, Capps said, no, we go forward, not back. It makes more sense for us to invest in the next-generation tech.
As for why he believes the Wii has become so popular, he says its like a virus that just keeps spreading:
Its a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and theyre like, Oh my God thats so cool, Im gonna go buy it. So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but theyve showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. Obviously theres a class of people who really love it and enjoy it and are getting into the games but Im still waiting for that one game that makes me play it.
That was me!Someone was pissed that Epic can run a slimmed down version of UE3 on the iPhone but they can't or won't run it on the Wii.
You know why? Because nearly every good game dev thinks the same freaking thing that you do about the Wii! Why does that make people stop playing the Wii? Because all the good games are going to the other consoles because game devs are so stupid that they think most of the money is on the more powerful consoles instead of the more accessible ones! Idiots!! And all the Wii is left with are incompetent morons who continue to make family-friendly games instead of gritty M-rated games like Dead Space and UT3 that populate the PC, 360 and PS3! Not only does that lessen the Wii's image in the eyes of serious devs like Epic, it convinces other idiots to do the same thing!! It's a vicious cycle that's only just NOW beginning to be broken by devs like High Voltage with The Conduit and The Grinder, EA with Dead Space: Extraction, and Konami with Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (just to name a few)!!![/nerdrage]So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but theyve showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on.
Agreed. Whatever I tried to play on a console, it was a no go. It's not like I never played anything so I'm not experienced, it's just... No... Just... No.....iPhone? Wii? PC is still a lot better than any console!
yes it would be nice to play it on the PSPits nice to have some unreal game for portable gaming but why not on
psp or ds or something.
i think its hard to control it on a stupid toughscreen
I like how in the discussion thread on BuF, people occasionally say "UT3 looks a lot better without all those stupid post-processing effects" as if they don't know that there's an option to turn it off.Nice, It works with OpenGL.ipad 2 case
ipad2 leather case
iPad2 case
It would be good to use OpenGL renderer for Windows!
