I bought Unreal Gold at a local thrift store, installed it, and ran it using the software renderer. I even ran it in safe mode, I still get the same error. Here's the message I get.

General Protection Fault!

History: UFireTexture::ConstantTimeTick

I'd recommend updating to patch 227.

http://www.oldunreal.com/oldunrealpatches.html

And use the OpenGL render.

Turn off DEP.

It seems the textures folder didn't install correctly...try copying the textures folder directly from the CD to your Unreal directory perhaps?

I agree with Shivaxi. From the looks of it the NaliFX package is corrupt. If needed you can download it here: Unreal_NaliFX.zip

No, seriously, this is DEP. Read Gizzy's post.

This. Again.

The cause for this bug is unclear. It may be due to the high amount of assembly code in Fire.dll

Read this article and see if it helps.

Ok, i read it, and if its the case than i who am i to say its the wrong workaround  :) . But i would still be curious if switching out the package also solves the problem, and if it persist will the tweak do the trick.

So i would ask SabreFan84 to first switch the package, than test it, and see if the tweak than solves the problem?
