Hiya guys!
I am looking for a gorgeous screenshot of Unreal from about the 26th of July 1996. The screenshots i am looking for looks alot like unreal5.gif found inside the zip file here : http://www.3dgamers.com/dlexit/intelene ... l.zip.html

It actually almost is that one i am looking for, though taken from another perspective (more from above).
The screenshot of the bridge i'm talking about is the first shot i ever saw and made me being the fan of Unreal that i Am today. if you look at the different shots in the zip file it'll amaze you that they didnt include these levels - at least its shocks me ;) So, if anyone could help me locate this screenshot, i would very much appreciate it!

Thnx alot!

Stian

At this moment all materials are being uploaded, its about 200 Mb of stuff, so it will take 15 minutes or so till everything will be there.

Two zipfiles are corrupted; sword1 or sword2 and U4Ebeta5, need to look into whats that about. If you find more corrupted files, please let me know here so i can check on them.

Also i want to make note, its all untested stuff i still had to sort out, theres also a few programms inthere which i don't know what they do. Its also possible there are doubles inthere, as said its totaly unsorted.

I hope there is material inthere you were looking for, in case you have stuff that is not on that page please contact me so i can add it to the site for others :) ,.........and me ;D

http://www.celticwarriors.net/Downloads/UnrealBeta95/

As said if you check now, not all have arived yet, to be sure check later on again.

Lol, you posted while i was writing above, and yeah, Hyper has a way cool area about the Beta version, you definatelly want to check that out !!!!

As you can see on the link where i am uploading to, i would have worked on a beta page, but lack of time...........

Since i am only uploading stuff you for sure want to read back on the Beta story on Hypers site, which in my opinium is one of the best sites in Unreal, i still can be jealous on the tons of info you can find there.

Great work Hyper :)

Actually when i look at the screenshots, i wonder how many of the Unreal material has been converted to the Klingon Honor Guard game.

I still have that demo also on the site:

http://www.celticwarriors.net/Downloads ... hgdemo.exe

Its really a clone from Unreal, it uses the same engine, texture packages, soundfiles, and so on.

If you look at picture un8b1 and un8b2 you can see the Klingon logo carved in the stones.

So maybe we are all looking at the wrong place and see if those textures are gettable out of the complete game, just an idea.............

Next to that, i wonder if the weapons and stuff in that game are that much compatible that they can be implemented in Unreal ;D Guess it would be cool if you can use the BatLeth which you can throw in the game.

The stupid thing is, i found that demo 1.5 / 2 years back and backthan i already noticed all files and engine looked very simular, i tried to load the map into Unreal but that failed.

But i never tried to load the files in the editor, which i tried last night, and yes :) , you can access all texture and sound files with no problem, even in that small version there really is tons of Klingon materials.

Actually the only 2 things i could not load was the unr file itself (but it could be its just my editor) and the Klingon.u file. I am not too experienced with the editor yet, and that goes certainly for .u files.

But yeah, that Klingon.u file could be an interesting thing, i asume it does contain all the bots and the weapons like the BatLeth you can throw.

Its a pitty i didn't think faster a year ago, cause i saw an old one lying in a shop for like 2 dollars, shit i regret now badly i didn't buy it :( :(

I will try get hold of one, but i already found out that could be dificult, can you mean anything for us regarding that TheEmperorStalwartUK, cause if the demo contains tons of stuff than the real game must contain millions of tons of stuff lol.

Shoot, i envy you now lol, lucky bastard :)

As far as the Unreal Demo95, i still am planning to build a map that contains all the levels and music, just need to find a way to extract the textures, i asume they are embedded into the MyLevel section within the maps, seeying the filesize of the map, its likely that i am correct there. Even better those prob contain alotta more textures as you can se in the demo itself.

Heya Diehard and Hyper!

About KHG; i think i have that somewhere among my games, and if not, I'll be sure to somehow get you a copy DH :)

Regarding the wholy screenshot:

I've gone through all the .zips with pictures inside and unfortunatly i can't find the special one I'm looking for :( If you guys take a look at Unreal5.gif found in the Unreal.zip file, maybe you'll know which one I am talking about. I appreciate this alot either way!

About some of the awesome textures such as the crypt, made by John Andersen, I've been in correspondance with him (a while ago) and he's told me that he were going to take a look for the old levels that weren't included in the final edition. I have yet to get a reply as he's a very busy bee! When I do, though, you guys will be the first ones to know!

Again, thnx a lot for all your assitance, and it would be awesome if the .gif file gave you a clue on where to continiue this search for "the screenshot" :)

Sincerely,

Stian

Thats a pitty you didn't find it among that stuff :(

If i found more old pictures, i will upload it an make a note here, but.........little chance i have more i am afraid.

As for the KHG, yeah i definately wanna have the game, ive been looking and asking all day in various shops, but no success so far, even on the internet its hard to find (including E-Bay), i did find a shop in the US selling it, but it looks like they don't have Paypal which is the ony way of payment i can do on the internet.

For anyone interested heres a link:

http://www.mygameroutlet.com/klinhonguar.html

Though must be sold on more places, also the price is a bit high for such an old game.

Here is btw a txt file which looks vary familiar lol:

http://www.celticwarriors.net/Downloads ... _codes.txt

I really wonder now how many things can directly implemented in Unreal, its just a complete clone from Unreal, it also could mean that the OpenGl patches Smirftsch made can be used almost directly in KHG, maybe adding some small differences in the Khg.ini file.

Just theorising here..........

Go to an Amazon site and you'll find it ;)

Anyway I just stumbled on a site by someone who worked on KHG: http://www.bobkathman.com/compart/klingon.html :o

There's concept art, sounds and a few screenshots and other pics.

I'm not so sure about the engine stuff, but I have seen screenshots on the net of KHG running in Unreal and vice versa but it's very unstable and liable to crash.

Also Microprose did a version of the Sithhar weapon for Unreal: ftp://ftp.unrealized.com/files/gallery/ ... ithhar.zip

I don't think it works in versions 224-226.

You know it's been six years, but I thought of good old Unreal the other day. Of course what sparked my memory was the screenshots we were discussing in this thread. So after we finished this thread i did find the screenshots. :)
Now the big question is: Who's going to make maps on the basis of them? ;)

Have to say that the third screenshot is something I wanted to make for Unreal, that is, a level where water plays a big role. Hmm.

Shots 1, 2 and 4 use the Crypt2.utx package (The proper one, not the stripped down one)

Shot 3 uses Castle1.utx (Also the non-stripped down version)

As for shot 5...I've never seen any of those textures anywhere before.

Apparently, this level is a very early version of Chizra.

Also wtf, I can't edit my above post :/

Yeah, the third one is my favourite for sure. I believe that was one of the first screenshots to appear. I remember chatting with Myscha back in the day, and he was like "oh yeah those are going to be in Unreal 2" (referring to the crypt ones). Sad that didn't turn out to be true.

But yeah, would love to see any of these in an actual map! :)
