From this point i dont know what the current patch 227 fixes for Unreal Gold from the Anthology boxset. But if needed you can install this patch to Unreal Gold from Anthology:
MultiInstallerNetPatchV1.0_OMPV0.2.exe
That patch fixes the networkproblem caused by the Midway logo in the UnrealShare.u and the UnrealI.u It also will enable the use of S3TC textures for the Anthology Gold you have.
Due to my illnessness i lost oversight, but someone correct me if i am wrong, but the current 227 patch also fixes the Anthology Gold (but breaks with RTNP). And i think the only problem with installing it into Anthology Gold is that that you need to carefully check if it patches to the correct location. Normally Unreal and UnrealGold are installed to either:
C:\Unreal
C:\UnrealGold
While Anthology is installed to:
C:\Unreal Anthology\UnrealGold
So if you use patch 227 you simply need to check carefully if the path is correct. But indeed, if it asks for the disk than theres the bigger problem because the files are stored within cab files which cannot be read by 227. (As said, correct me if i am wrong here, because at this point i am unsure patch 227 needs the disk to grab certain files).
But in any case the patch provided above should fix the netproblems, fixes S3TC and keeps RTNP all in oné go. So simply use that patch if everythiong else fails, cause that
MultiInstallerNetPatchV1.0_OMPV0.2.exe should fix everything!
And yeah, garbled textures like that only have oné cause, failed rendering as the renderer tries to render textures it doesnt recognise
Also !!!!
Dont mix the textures for Unreal and UT. You have to download the S3TC textures per game and not mix them, or you will get version mismatches if you try to play online with either game.
So for Unreal(Gold) download the S3TC textures for Unreal(Gold) (And that includes UnrealGold from Anthology)
For UT download the S3TC textures for UT (And that includes UT from Anthology)
Dont mix them !!!
