Unreal Gold for Mac

I apologize if this is posted elsewhere, but a friend of mine is getting a Macintosh and is wondering if Unreal or Unreal Gold is available for Macintosh. Does anyone know if it is? Thanks in advance...

as far as I know without "boot camp" or whatever it is to dual boot windows, its not possible. If someone donated smirf a mac to port 227 to.. we could be saying yes

Well there must be a Mac version b/c Diehard has patches for Mac on his cw site

I did find unreal 1 for mac ported with Cider including s3tc textures.
It has been altered to run on OSX Leopard and Tiger.

There is an Unreal MAC, i do own the retail version of that one. But i was never able to do anything with it since i dont own a MAC. If i throw the cd in my computer it cannot even see the disk. I tried emulaters backthan with no result.

And if theres an UnrealGold MAC, i have no idea, at least i never saw one. But Unreal MAC excists. I bought mine form here:

A port for Intel would be no problem for me to build a version (of course I'd need a machine for it first).

Because of some stupid "NDA".... If Linux is allowed just because Linux is "open source and free software" then something's seriously wrong... since Mac OS X's nothing more than a form of Linux if I'm right...

Mac OS X was a combination of Mac OS and NeXTSTEP. NeXTSTEP was based on UNIX. So Mac OS X is about one eighth Linux, thus I don't think it matters.

Although I got no real answer for that I can assume its because they are afraid that I could have missed something or built something in they could be made responsible for. Legal stuff.
I just got the answer that they don't have the bandwidth to oversee such a project- for whatever that means.

well, the best would be probably the one I am not allowed to release- while currently I only have a Powermac and I'd need to make an Intel version yet, but that should be a matter of a few hours.
But I guess this doesn't matter since I don't expect Epic to change their opinion.
So as far as I remember there is no OS X version and no Intel based version of Unreal.
Also the last version officially released on Mac was 224. So there is no UnrealGold for Mac.

I remember some hack version someone mentioned here in the forums, but with a couple of issues. Can't remember the details atm. Maybe do a search, there shouldn't be many topics with Mac content.

I'd also love to have one, because I've spent a lot of time serching a mac version working on X and I did't find anything. Can you contact me please, because I'm new here and as I see, I'm unable to send you a PM.
