It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

Have any user seen textures of Earth that looks like mesh not sheet?? And I need some meshes converted to brush of japanese houses from DM-Shangri-la (ut3) with textures exported in .pcx format. I need this much.

Re: Need help
It would be easy to export the Shangri-la houses, but since I don't own UT3, I can't help

Re: Need help
Have fun, since thats no easy process at all. With 3D Ripper DX you might be able to record the geometry of the level as *.obj (and in an other format, 3D Max or Maya with accordingly plugins requiered). But it does not seem that easy to edit that for your use in Unreal. Anyway dropping textures with that nice tool is rather easy on the other hand (will be extracted as DDS). Actually the tool is self-explanatory (and by far the ONLY tool capable to extract the imported/compressed DDS textures in 227g btw, a long time ago an extracting process of those 227g textures was impossible).
If anything fails, you have two other options
1. Ask on beyondunreal - since several mappers have ported e.g ut2004 maps to ut3
2. Be satisfied with UT2004`s CTF-MoonDragon. It does not offer that much asia themed content as ut3, but it is not that difficult to extract the content there.
Edit: There are two things on the internet that let me "WTF" every time.
The first is many people mix the words "witch" and "which" up (kinda funny, I have to laugh every time)
The second thing is: ...
Thats no offence now Gizzy but.. first that is not that easy and second why do people post "sry I can not help". I dont understand that. As thread poster I would be first happy for seeing a reply and then I would think "eh? And now?
".
You are not the only one who does that (obviously). I see that several times on other boards. Such posts are simply not helpful in any way, even if you have felt something like "sympathy" for the threadstarter here. You should try to break that habit. Only a good meant advice. ;)
edit 2: added smilies, since my posts are mostly smilie-less... and maybe hard to understand for some users.
edit 3: And I will not do the work for you. I told you what you CAN do to get what you want. Its not impossible. If you really want it, you will figure it somehow out.

Re: Need help
I assumed that the houses would be static meshes in UT3 anyway...
Guess I could be wrong.
If they are static meshes and someone could send me the .upk file, I could help and extract them

Well yearh, they are Static Meshes, it seems I misunderstood you. In that case your previous post was NOT useless^^.I assumed that the houses would be static meshes in UT3 anyway...Guess I could be wrong.

Re: Need help
You can use UModel for this. It supports Static Meshes now.
