Why is this in the 227 section of the forum?
Dunno...could it be moved to general by any chance?
And what's the news on this, if anyone knows?
Still waiting for this guy to respond to Hyper's PM.
On a sidenote, I contacted Shane Caudle about recovering old beta stuff, but he replied with this:

Nope, this is a dud... I figured that hyper had never told people he had that alpha on his website. And figured I could give it a go xD
But I had asked like multiple people all over the place, did you know hyper has the unreal beta?? and it just seemed like it was a no for every single person. So I just stated that this is found on Hyper NL's website LOL
"Sorry to give your hopes up, but even after I read more and looked through thousands of cached files on google... I still could not find it, so I suppose this doesn't exist at all in the database. And if it did, you would literally have to go get it from the original producer."

Ah, well, then I understand. Maybe this thread brought some attention to it for the people who did not know it yet from my site.

I don't really have any of that data any more, I had a harddrive crash back then, and lost most of it

Bluehaze: What doesn't exist in database? Anyway talk about making us feel hyped or worried.
Gizzy: Still Shane Caudle contact is good, if you think you are not up to the whole task I can talk to him or help with anything, but I don't use facebook so it would have to be through email.
EDIT: Hmm, well you could ask him if he knows anyone who might have it..also I am looking for the addon pack Eric Reuter worked on, still have no luck recovering it.
I am thinking of maybe contacting T.Elliton Canon as well, if he has public adress.

I sent him a message back on FB asking if he had any means of contacting anyone else and also told him the previous attempts to contact Epic directly in the past have failed.

I would really like to find that cryptic addon pack though, it was a bundle thing, just like the unreal special edition etc...I talked to Eric Reuter and Nigel Kent about it but both didn't have it anymore, maybe if I asked few more years back....
I made a thrad in Epic games forums in case anyone will notice it:
http://forums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=740051
I sent emails to various Epic members about it too, but nobody except Cliff Bleszinski replied on it and it was more of a beta issue. He was actually happy about the idea of getting the beta or unreleased content released in some form, which wouldn't be giving away whole beta, so it would either include a check for people who have unreal installed or something like that....but after he talked about it with more people he said that they said something like that the company needs to protect itself and that all he could do is to tell them to not make any legal actions against it.
Obviously the lawyers can be a little pain there...
But that was a while ago since he told me about it and also he had no idea where he would get the betas or any of that content.

Next time you talk to Cliff thank him, as I understand it he was a key role into allowing 227 to even exist.
If this beta content needs an installer with a verification check, smirf can provide, since he already has an NDA to begin with.
as I understand it, the beta content is likely on their backup tapes, as with the UPak .cpp/.h src that's missing{which we had to substitute.. and would be nice to have..}.. which requires manpower to look through them, and a shitload of time. Neither of which they wanted to spend on UPak for us, so unless Cliff himself does it, chances are very slim..

I did, but he said he has no idea where to get these himself and that in case it was found he could nudge the legal department to not take legal actions, which they obviously wanted to do.
