I have the Unreal Alpha, if you guys want the old skins... editor etc. Just ask me, I will give it out by a link. So far it is very difficult to play with the controls, you have to use the mouse wheel to look up and down. But it has all of the maps and skins etc. Hypernl has it on his website if you want it off of there, but just letting everyone know in case you want to get a hold of it. I love the alpha music, sfx, textures and voice acting on it. Very well done, and it is a shame they couldn't of used them some time in the real game.

If it is a different alpha version than the ones I already offer at my site then I'm surely interested. But otherwise: no. It would be strange to ask for a link to something that I host already. ;-)

There are still some alpha and beta versions that I saw at screenshots (From the Tyrian game demo, from the PowerUnlimited magazine article for example) which I still would like to have. But chances are that they don't exist anymore. Or maybe only exist inside a vault at Epic HQ.

Nah he meant that he has alphas or betas in his website, but the old alpha doesn't have editor, the tech demo, so this seems to be different.

Unless he means the 97-98 press beta.

Epic have once claimed that "Those assets disappeared a long time ago" Which I call "Epic" bs upon.

They exist, I know it. It's just finding the right people and asking the right questions that are the difficult tasks...

There isn't any voice acting in Hyper's beta (unless I missed something); maybe this is a different alpha. I'd be very interested if it is.

They have backup tapes, but they can't be bothered to look through them even for UPak

Yeah, I remember the guy saying that voices were a feature in an older version.

The HUDs in the older shots just seem like placeholders...the ammo count in all the pics I've seen all seem to be the same

Another point...for those who have played the '95 Tech Demo, would it be possible to implement that type of movement in Unreal now?) (View goes on a slant slightly when turning left and right)

If the one you have DOES have acting on it, I would be very interested in it. Although...you did say that Hyper already had it on his site, so it makes me think you have an already-leaked 97-98 Press release Beta as Leo said.
