Fraps in Unreal

when i use fraps to record unreal my fps drops to 1-4.

any ideas how to record gameplay without the lag?

Sadly as far as I know that's how Fraps works. It happens to me too, but I don't believe the video is laggy / choppy when you play it last I checked.

I used Fraps from time to time, but had to drop my video settings to minimal to be able to record with minimal lag.

DemoRec is broken too, with (apparently) no means of fixing it either

I have no problem with lag on mine... it just gets out of sync for whatever reason.

I have no problem as well, although I usually record in standard HD resolution to keep Fraps from eating my HDD for lunch.

I suggest using CamStudio, which is both open source and efficient.

CamStudio never works for me, the FPS doesn't go above 10 at any given time.

I never had a problem with FRAPS either...at least the full version doesn't give me any problems...i think the trial version did...

my fraps is copied from friends computer. (i dont have ccard)

it is fullversio.

ill try to reinstall my unreal and patch to 227 v. and then use camstudio.

btw the unreal is from old cd (i have the box and everything)

320x240 res will work with fraps just fine. I used to have a POS pc....intel pentium3 1.0ghz.....256 ddr1....and a 8 MB notebook Video card.... playin unreal in 320x240 res while recording fraps still managed to get 20- 25 FPS while recording...so even if u have a 8mb Video card u can use fraps as long as u got 320x240 res.....
