As some of you may know, i collect anything that is related to Unreal. And for years now i have been looking for a Chinese version of Unreal, as well as the Russian version of Unreal. The Russian version i still havent found, but a couple a weeks ago i did found a Chinese RTNP and the guy was willing to sent it out to me. But the negotiations are going horrible slow, and there still needs to be solved tons of issues(mainly how to get the money there). In that respect, i also suspect there might be a Japanese version of Unreal for which i have not been looking yet.
But today i found another source and that source did finally help me out to find additional Chinese stuff. And as it is now, i can get several still shrink wrapped versions of RTNP and Unreal itself. So i thought i post some photos for anyone that is interested:
Chinese Unreal Retail Box
Chinese RTNP Retail Box
Chinese UT G.O.T.Y Retail Box
I still am a looooooooooooong way from getting them, but the cool part is, it seems that Unreal is far from rare in China. So even if i miss out on the ones above, than i am sure there will be others available that i can buy.
Of course i am also curious if theres localisations in the form of different maps and such. But if i get them, than ill post that as well of course.

wondering why we never meet then Chinese players. Of course, bad ping etc. but all I stumbled across over the years were some Japanese players and those seemed to use an English version.
If there is some net incompatibility? Is it filtered out by their government?
Interesting...

No i think the answer is more simple. Asian people are mostly hardworking people, and hard learners on school, but they all seem to have a common problem, they simply dont speak any other language than their own.
And no matter what Chinese i go in my country, they hardly speak Dutch and when asked they also dont speak English. So they might have been there all the time, but silent. But i doubt its filtered by the goverment, cause Unreal doesnt contain any political stuff that needs to be blocked, and aside that, filtering is pretty recent and didnt occur 5 years ago. And if anything, than the gore in the Asian versions is likelly higher than lower. And this lies in the nature of Asian people to also have gore commics in an amount unthinkable to most western countries. Asians like gore

and certainly will never make a fuzz about it
And i also doubt net incompatibility because so far all the copies i have dont show anything like that, and i got the US version, the Dutch, Italian, German, Swedish/Norwegian/Finnish/Dannish , the UK version, the Australian version, and all seem to be compatible.
As for the Japanese version, because of WW2 the US is still highly involved in Japan, and that could account for the US version in Japan. But seeing the fact that small countries have their own versions, i am pretty much 100% convinced there must be a Japanese version as well because Japan has over 128 million people. That is certainly more than large enough to have a local version. I mean Australia has "only" 22 million people and they have their own version, so rest asured Japan has as well.

Ahah, that's what you think, but the hive-like organisation of the skaarjs is a metaphor for communism in china, enslaving the working people (the nalis) and having them working in tarydium (uranium and coal) mines. It all makes sense when you stop thinking !

Of course. I can also show you how Disney's Jungle Book is actually violently anti-imperialist and anti-emigration.

Am I the only one who thinks "Chinese Unreal" sounds delicious?
Or is it because I love Chinese food so much?
