The map is a Humans vs. Necris fight, and according to the story of the map, as we know there have been many vessels lost on Na Pali, including research vessels. Nobody retrieved anything because according to them, the creatures of Na Pali are very dangerous (and they totally weren't owned by a single person in the past
But that doesn't matter. What I really wanted to talk about were the easter eggs in the map. One of them is interesting. In the map, there are two stone formations that look a lot like Titans in the map. If you shoot them in the head, you hear the muffled sound of a Titan come from the statue. That means they're Stone Titans! Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you see it) they don't come to life and beat the crud out of everyone. That would be awesome...
Er, moving on. The second thing I want to talk about is VERY interesting. Somewhere in the map is a cave hidden by vines. There is a pile of rocks blocking the rest of the way in with a hole in the middle. You can see is a light coming from inside the cave, and you can also hear the sounds of a Nali! He doesn't come out of the cave however, but you can fire grenades into the cave and actually kill him! Actually the "Nali" is just a trigger that turns off the light and activates a kismet sequence to stop the Nali sounds, but still, it's refreshing to see Epic putting in little references to the original game in UT3. It makes me hopeful that MAYBE they'll stop with the UT and GoW games for just a moment and work on an Unreal 3 for the diehard fans of the original game.
So there was my utterly pointless post. Hope you enjoyed reading it... or something....
