Usually you can only see your own server in LAN if you're running it from the same network you're trying to see it on...sometimes...dunno why...

Re: a little Nephthys help
hmm...then perhaps you didn't have all the master servers listed in either your client or server? Should definitely show up otherwise.

Re: a little Nephthys help
I heard that a lot of times, but it never happened to me though... May be OS-related or driver-related or something, most likely not Unreal-related.Usually you can only see your own server in LAN if you're running it from the same network you're trying to see it on...sometimes...dunno why...
If the server looks down for you randomly, it might either really be down, you have misconfigured something, or it's really just random.
Any way, I'd just ignore it until it gets really bad.

Re: a little Nephthys help
This did all start when I installed Nephthys, but i dont know if this is the case or something different. i am running a wireless router, but did nothing to it to change it.
No ones heard of this before??? i was on one of Zora's servers, and i couldnt see it in populated servers, anywhere at all. yet the person i was playing online with at the time said he could,

Re: a little Nephthys help
Yea, they're moving the master server according to Zora. You need to add the other ones to your .ini (server and client). Here's what I have in my .ini and
1. My server shows up to others
2. I can see most other servers that have the additions in them
Now in your Unreal.ini for server and client, look for something like ServerActors=IpServer.UdpServerUplink MasterServerAddress=master0.gamespy.com MasterServerPort=27900
Replace that and any others like that with:
ServerActors=IpServer.UdpServerUplink MasterServerAddress=hyper.dnsalias.net MasterServerPort=27900
ServerActors=IpServer.UdpServerUplink MasterServerAddress=master.hlkclan.net MasterServerPort=27900
ServerActors=IpServer.UdpServerUplink MasterServerAddress=unreal.epicgames.com
ServerActors=IpServer.UdpServerUplink MasterServerAddress=master0.gamespy.com MasterServerPort=27900
ServerActors=IpServer.UdpServerUplink MasterServerAddress=master.thenerdnetwork.com MasterServerPort=27900
ServerActors=IpServer.UdpServerUplink MasterServerAddress=master.oldunreal.com MasterServerPort=27900
Then, when Gamespy's master is down or something, your server will still show up and you can see most other servers with that in them as well (as long as those remain up anyhow..), which they basically already do lol.

Re: a little Nephthys help
Not only Nephthys servers are affected. Any server without what I pasted above in their .ini will not show up when Gamespy's master is down. And if I'm correct, you canA not see those servers without what I pasted in your client .ini as well. Any server you can see probably has that in their .ini.

Much better description:
http://zzora.altervista.org/OtherMasterServer.html
But I suggest you use the master servers I pasted above since this one seems a bit outdated...

Re: a little Nephthys help
Thank you Matrix, i decisively FIXED the problem. you might be thinking, what was it anyway? Well, I'll tell ya:
I have a remote 24 player rental server, they installed nephthys on their end, and for some reason, the installation worked, but the proper coding didnt go into the server packages in the unreal.ini
so i added it manually, from Zora's website and I didnt even have to add the nerd network master server, it was just a ini problem. Now I can see it in all servers, and populated servers. WOOOOOOOOOOOOO. redrum is back !
