So far it's only a UT single player map pack, which I know some people here are not fond of, but it takes place on Na Pali and incorporates a bit of Fallout 3 exploration gameplay, and a few other snazzy things like shaders and such. It has a lot of other things but I haven't really read into it. You can ask Raven, as he is the lead for the project.

EDIT: Kaka is the team leader, Raven deals with the scripting.

Personally also never heard of such a mod.

You can always try to Google it.

However, the links don't look very assuring.

Here's a thread about The Chosen One on UnrealSP.org for anyone who wants more information.

Wow, the screenshots show graphics of Unreal Engine 2 quality (it would fit there perfectly, especially if converted and some STATICMESH SMOOTH applied!). I may try it once it's released.

Here's our moddb profile with more info and gallery: http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-chosen-one. Be aware that some of those sshots are very old and everything looks much better atm.

BTW - Kaka is team leader not me :).

Glad you liked it :). Anyway to keep everyone up to date - besides of lacking few models, few missing icons in PDA and one fu@#%d UVMap on pickup - game is fully playable. I'm trying to optimize whole code to make it run faster, without breaking compatibility with everything else (and the oldest parts suck so much I'd gladly delete whole thing and start from scratch :P). What has been said on USP is still actual - no coop (sorry for that), but it just makes no sense to fix replication issues on this one.

We do have plan to re-release (in the future, after RD release) TCO using RD assets and 227 (and coop) compatible. But that's only a plan.

Hmm, why are there any replication issues? Do you have some custom code in there or something? If these were just simple maps, it would be easy to add support and convert between platforms.

There are tons of custom code - RPG-like quest/skill support,  custom PDA (sshot below), backtracking, vehicles, upgradeable weapons and tons of other stuff. The core code (whole RPG related stuff) was written ~4-5 years ago and it's true (believe me :P) replication horror :). Usage of stock UT content is very minimal - everything else is custom made (by me or one of the coders we had in team long ago).

What happens if you open the maps with unrealshare.coopgame gametype? Maybe a "lite" version of it could be made which would support co-op (and thus porting to other platforms).

Nope, player pawn will have to be changed and weapons and vehicles :)

What about not changing the playerpawn, using Unreal weapons and not using vehicles? ;) Backtracking doesn't need any code to work, too.

I have a question to someonewho have contact with :.:. Is he going to release a new vehicle pack?? Or there is a vehicle pack created by another user (except SR_vehicles mod)???

O course we can release later coop version of TCO with all content deleted :P.

Dunno if there's any other vehicle pack, but we're using our own implementation.

It surely looks nice here.

I can't reach the site because it has been blocked for malware:

One guy at beyondunreal complianed about the malware warning too, because the link at some person's signature contained it, or the program thought it contains it. And it was non related site.
Obviously it was fae warning after all and could be fixed by simple adjustment.

It should already be fixed, but this damn warning isn't as easy to get rid of. Anyway for new stuff look at our moddb profile: http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-chosen-one our site wasn't updated for a long time.

I'm sure you've all heard of a little thing known as "FALSE POSITIVES", don't go believing every "WARNING MALWARE ALERT" you find... I even had a legitimate game I play detected as a "Trojan" when all it is is it's auto update program...

It's nearly impossible to know when something is a false positive unless you have the entire list of known computer viruses, trojans, worms etc. memorized, or if the name of the "virus" comes up as the name of a familiar program. The name that comes up in the warning message from that site sure as hell doesn't look familiar, and I'm not risking it.

There may be a case where someone hacks the website and plants a virus without the site owner knowing it. You never know.
