that's weird, did you copy it from a clean install of 227? you shouldn't be able to join any server that has that loaded

AFAIK 227 doesn't support 226f because its nametable is conformed to 225f and not 226b as it should. Read this:

A common error. A good way to look at it is this:

Regular Unreal is its own game. I believe it's considered ver 224. It has a series of patches. The best and most common is 225F. The last "official" regular Unreal patch is 226F.

Regular Unreal also has an exspansion pack. Return to Na Pali. The exspansion also has it's own series of patches.

Now let's talk about UnrealGold. Consider it to be a self-contained game of its own, other than regular Unreal.

I know, UnrealGold has all the same levels (etc) as regular Unreal and the RTNP exspansion. But it's a "self-contained" game of its own. It has only 1 patch, called the "WebLinksPatch." This turns UnrealGold (ver 226) to ver 226b.

Remember that it's a self-contained game of its own that just happens to have all the same levels (etc) as regular Unreal and RTNP.

And the only thing that UnrealGold's "WebLinksPatch" (ie. 226b) does is allow UnrealGold to join regular Unreal (ie. 225F for example) servers. Hence its name: WebLinksPatch.

That's the easiest way to think about it.

UnrealGold is a self-contained game of its own. That's the way Epic Games thinks of it. It factors into why it's UnrealGold that's bundled with the Anthology, and not regular Unreal (with its exspansion).

I hope this helps explain things abit.
