It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

I found some interesting facts from an old archived site about Unreal:

Nali is said to resemble humans. Is there going to be both male and female Nalis at degree to notice the difference?

es, its beta alright, someone send me one of the betafiles once who had the dragon model in it, to bad UTPT couldn't export them somehow..

These quotes are from an Unreal site talking about Unreal beta back in 1997. This has nothing to do with 227.
es, its beta alright, someone send me one of the betafiles once who had the dragon model in it, to bad UTPT couldn't export them somehow..
If you still have these files (Please say you do) I could try exporting the models. I know of quite a few methods rather than using UTPT.

So do i gizzy. I tryd any possible option way to do it there is. The problem was that not any version of Unreal was able to open it. And afcaurse i lost it since my D drive was erased remember? But thanks for the offer anyway. I know KSA Hybrid has the file, i have him on msn ill ask him for it by tomorrow if he still has the files. If i'm not capable to export them, you will be the the first one i go to.

These were in the 97/98 beta (The skins were anyway) and there have been a few attempts at re-creating them. AFAIK, there is a FireSlith mod running on Shivaxi's server.
If that still doesn't work, it might be possible to rig a package loader and resave the file in the correct format.. but it might be a lot of work
Rig a package loader? Would that be something to do with UCC?

Somebody said that somewhere in 227 report bugs place.
The time when only 227d had been released.

It would be good to see this in Unreal, but I think it would take up waay too much development time. 227g is gonna be quite big from what I have heard so far...

After a long period without news, I've talked to RMFX and it seems that he will release what's left of it only when he feels like it, if ever, so I'd say we could start looking at the alternatives. I've already mentioned this in another thread - it may be a good idea to create a letter to Epic/Digital Extremes about the betas, ask them if they still have them and note why the issue is important for Unreal, Unreal Tournament and Unreal II communities. So, if you have any ideas what should go into the letter or any other ideas, post here. And who would be the best to mail? Personally, I'd think Epic, after all they added more to the game and may have a bigger chance of still having them...

Cliff Bleszinsky told me he doesn't know ehere to locate them himself, so I guess if DE hs still these archives that might be the chance.
And as I said in the Unreal psx thread on beyondunreal, he said that I shouldn't be stopped from recovering the stuff, of course the release is another thing though, but he can make things legal there in Epic and ask others.
