Its off topic, but the SGC map i work on has 19933 polys, but rebuilds like a charm, except it takes about 7 minutes to rebuild. But thats understandable i guess.

If it doesn't crash, it's awesome. :P

Yes wtf1.unr is very un-stable...if you fly above the world or try to ghost through geometry, you will GPF almost instantly. Why? Idfk probably my horrible terra edit job I did for that map. You wanna try fixing some GPF's Casey? Start with wtf1 lol...that'll keep ya busy for a few days :P ::)

@diehard

How big is the map, like what size cube will it all fit in? mine will fit in a 4096 cube.

Like totally off topic (but i guess i felt for it lol)

Map dimensions are(aprox):
2048 High
4608 width
6144 Breadth

But (part 1)

Theres oné structure in it that makes the map in reality 9216 high

But (part 2)

It has a large decoration(you can jump to it through the Gate) that is:
9216 High
32768 width
32768 Breadth

The decoration and the map are seperate files at the moment, but combined it has:
Image
And the utx files currently used:
Image
Total filesize for the entire SGC project(excluding maps):
Image All the Editor files:
Image And since there is also a UT release as well as normal, Low End and High End textures, i estimate that all files together at release will be aprox 3500 Megabyte (3.5 gig)

So.......its a large project alright. But i was bored and felt like showing off :P :P

Oh, almost forgot(Yeee, bit back on topic), the map is over 9 Mb, and as said, the editor seems to handle it just fine :)

Lol this isn't off topic at all. :) This is about the maps and stuff after all... Oh well the map I'm working on atm could prolly fit inside a 2048×8192×12288 cube but if you calculate the distance between the actual map's part 1, part 2 and skybox, it'd barely fit into 24576×8092×8092 and it's getting bigger and bigger... :)

I'm looking for maps that crash the editor via any means, but mostly rebuild. I once had a map so detailed it crashed the editor, but I lost it many moons ago.

if you have any, be detailed on how you crash things. then post/email smirf about it :P

A few recommendations and application: First, I'd recommend strongly that you post this on UnrealSP.org, as to expand the potential for gathering mappers, coders, or modelers. Second, I would love to gather experience and I find that this is the perfect chance for me to gather information of what others want from what I can do that I haven't done or wouldn't have done without their opinions. Also, would you be using Unreal or UT, and if Unreal, what patch? I can definitely map, so I could send you as much as I can give.

EDIT: As for the UnrealSP.org post I could give the information myself if you don't want to. I'd be willing.

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong ..

The patch they're using is the 227 one !!
http://www.oldunreal.com/oldunrealpatches.html

It's for Unreal 1, but uses the editor from UT.
