any chance 227G will implement voice communication? like ut2k4? that would be most helpful! no more getting killed by a *FLY* while typing. lol

yes, there are more than enough tools for that and 227g is to finalize things, not to implement tons of new stuff and risk its stability because of that (in any case new features are having always a good chance to have new bugs also) :)

That's hard to impossible. Using a 3rd party program is simpler. Also if you really WANT that, I *could* make a lightweight P2P voice chat program (although I've never tried before). :P

And your laziness justifies forcing those who have already contributed several hundred if not thousands of hours to 227 to waste even more time implementing something that's already available. Yeah. Right. I'm looking forward to 227g for what it is; a bug fixing platform, not a bloated one with unnecessary BS like this.

dots and I, or ANYONE at that, plain can't get the source to figure out how to do this aside from smirf, and it's not worth his time to make such a feature anyway.

If you want voice chat, as previously stated, get ventrilo or teamspeak.

However we've talked about speech to text, which seems trivial to implement but we've not tried yet. Maybe when we get 227g headers..

I still think it's going to happen someday.
It's possible.

But it doesn't mean it's feasible.

I don't know how to capture a wave format and convert it to a USOUND for unreal to play it.

But I could make an interface that makes it _seem_ like unreal has voip, but it's actually an external call playing the sounds.

The hard part would be getting people to forward ports..
