It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

RunePubSrc100 Headers Released

As Rune and Unreal are cousins, I thought you all would like to know.  After working with Human Head Studios the last few months:
Earlier this morning, Chris Rhinehart of Human Head Studios announced in RuneGame.com the Official Public Release of the RunePubSrc100 Headers!

(Chris Rhinehart is one of the original HH founders and "Chief Head".)  

We are pleased to finally release the long-awaited headers for Rune 1.00!

Moreso than anything, we are pleased that the Rune community is thriving, with new, exciting projects on the horizon. We hope that the release of these headers will help out these new projects as well as reinvigorate old projects.

Please see Help\ReadMeSrc.htm for more information on compiling/using the headers.

Special thanks to the following people who helped get these headers going:
- Laurie Wise: the ultimate Rune Game Goddess, who does an incredible amount on the RuneGame.com website and helped facilitate these headers coming to life
- Hawkeye, Del, and Zora: For testing the headers and ensuring that they are solid and ready for use. Thanks, all!

Zora's Nephythys Security was so successful with HOV using the 107, he had been asked about making one for the Rune 100 Community.  But did not have the headers.  So I asked that Zora would be part of the "secret" community  100 Headers Testing team to insure this was possible.  

I made sure Chris and HH knew about his work....... :)

To answer some questions.

Yes, Epic did give their blessings to release the Rune 100 Headers.  This according to an April email from Chris after he obtained the original source code archive.    

Is this the full Source Code?
 
Not being a coder myself, I cannot say. But in any case, if Epic gave their blessings to Chris to release these. Something must be "there".

it's somewhat easy to convert them to VS2008 actually, if they aren't already I could try later

Hey there, I am Del... one of the people that was able to help Human Head in the testing of these headers. To answer a couple or a few questions I saw...

It is not full, it is a HUGE chunck of a great thing!

It's not full source code, but headers. I wonder will they work with VC++ 2008.
I do not want to give any incorrect info here, though I was able to mod up a bit using '3' versions of VC, the only issue is (only my personal thought on the matter)... if using different versions of VB it will have different functions, and therefore if they are modified into 2008 compatible, they are no longer backwards compatible. This in turn disabling the workspace share on projects, with older version... All would be forced to upgrade. If a solo coder on a project... I don't really see it to be a problem.

I'm going to give it a try and compile stuff I've already done for Rune 1.07 once I'll find some time.
