Why doesn't that expression exist? It'd save a bit of typing time. I think it's very easy to add but not sure about incompatibilities that it could cause...

First question: What does that expression do? :P

It doesn't do anything because it doesn't exist.

What it would do is be shorthand.

a = a$b;
a $= b;

Those two would be equivalent.
Darksider, it should be possible to create your own operators in UScript. Just write it yourself.

Tbh that's what I though at first but I decided to ask someone not to mess something up. :)

What's a$b? a giving a $ to b?

a="h";
b="i";
log(a$b); outputs hi

Ah, merge string... Interesting.
Indeed it does look interesting, but what is it useful for?

It's useful for merging strings. That's pretty important.

$ is the concatenation operator for UScript.

The $= operator described here would be an assignment by concatenation operator. It would just be shorthand for something you can already do.

Some languages like Java and C# support concatenation by assignment through the += operator..

Just for fun I tried declaring my own $= operator in UScript, but the compiler kept telling me it was a bad operator definition. I was able to define a += operator for strings without an issue though.

Lol, I will do that then. :) But it'll make the code incompatible if someone else doesn't have it declared, right? Actually, who would want to look at my beta codes? o_O
