Never mind, W3RM-(DOG)- has fixed 99% of the problems and it is running on newbies servers, and I will put fixed up for download soon as a toxin suit problem is resolved.

argh.. well maybe you should have asked roland FIRST before you do that?  You should also have W3RM list EXACTLY what he fixed here before you release it so we know what were getting.  Otherwise, I will recommend everyone here to simply ignore his link that he may potentially post on this forum and create major version conflicts.

Speaking of that, i've noticed on your server (connecting anonomously for obvious reasons) that someone from the Newbies clan has modified many of the original coop maps changing the end URLS.  This practice is unnaceptable in my eyes at least and the reason i'm not ever playing in any DOG server again. Did it not occur that changing URL's creates major version conflicts with each pack you modify? I just hope noone cache rips that shit.

In fact with proper method, you can make UGold RTNP maps directly playable on 225f server for all clients (and UGold players wont even need to download anything on login).

Haven't seen the proper modifications anywhere yet.
Newbies servers are custom map servers and we do not provide downloads  of our custom maps.  If someone uses cache files to get the maps that is fine with us but they do so at the risk of conflicts.  We continue to support supercache for all Newbies playground servers.  Our servers run approximately 3000 maps in total and we encourage the use of a cache only install to play on our servers.  This is up to each individual client/player. The map series we are talking about here seems to be very good, and near the original as any we have seen to date. Well received by the players on our servers.

You could fix the map problems by mutator of course, but I do not see it that wrong that you don't wanna use that and with the megacache method and I use separate ini for joining jackal's coop. So it is fine for me.

sorry guys.. been having internet/computer/powercut issues for the past 2 days.. everything seems alright now. i've also been kinda occupied with finnish girls :P *aghem..* oldsparky has a very good point, i COMPLETELY forgot to test on UGold.. silly mistake, i'm very sorry. tbh i didn't think there would be any file mismatch conflicts since i used (as far as i know) the original files..

also, yes, i would appreciate it if u would talk to me before u release another version. oldsparky, could u ask W3RM to give me some feedback and point out what exactly doesnt work, cuz i'd rather fix it myself then.

i'm gna check to see which maps are erroring in unreal gold..

strange.. for me i can run the maps fine with unreal gold. i dont get a file mismatch. what i can do is rename Scout.uax to MPScout.uax and make the changes in the maps which use it. that way there wont be a version conflict. but as far as i know, mine should be OK.. :-/

Both the Scout.uax packages are the same.
But people that use UGold get a mismatch. (Weird eh?)
So I renamed Scout.uax to MPScout.uax
Replaced the line in 2 of the maps that use the sound.
No other edits have been made to these 2 maps.
And yes the last map of the series has been changed to go to another map when the map is done.
And the suits in MPToxic now respawn.
Reason? - Co-Op so everyone can get a suit. :)

(I'm W3RM just under another name... Heh. :D)

i didnt modify the toxin suit to respawn since there might be people out there who use the item replacer. if i remember correctly, there are 2 toxin suits. the thing i did do though, is i changed the damage per second of the slimezones. by default it was 5 if i remember correctly, and i changed it to something like 2 or 3. this way players can just swim through it obtaining less than 20 damage. i think this is a better solution then trying to 'fix' the toxin suit. i prefer not to modify the toxin suit. after all, most servers have respawning items, so this really is a minor thing.

also, why change the last map's end teleporter url? u put illhaven as next map... i made sure that MPNaliC2 would link back to DuskFalls so that people can easily swap onto other maps.. dzmapm's MapSequence option allows u to go to another map. instead of MPNaliC2 going to DuskFalls, u go to dzmapm (or pretty much any coop game type) and u say that the map after MPNaliC2 is illhaven. then if u like, after illhaven u can say the next map will be MPDuskFalls. that's why i didnt link it to Unreal.unr, or Entry.unr, or just a random map..

in the email u sent me u said "The nali in the building where the end is, blocks the door in mpduskfalls if it becomes frightened. Maybe a little re path is in order." there is only 1 nali in MPDuskFalls, and when he's frightened everything is still ok.. so can u be a bit more specific please

if u know of any other errors or bugs or things u think aren't right, please tell me. thx for the feedback

There's 4 toxin suits in the map.
It has been changed to illhaven because it's the next mappack in order on the server.
Just a setting the server needs.
Just like the Toxin Suits
The most new players when they go in get out because it's hurting them.

If your unhappy with the minor mods we have made, I can remove them from the Newbies Servers and not run them at all.  Not a problem.  Doesn't matter to me as we have 450 other maps, but if you want them played on the Newbies Servers or not its up to you.  Just tell me what you want Roland.  The map sequencer solution will not work when you have 400+ maps.  We do not run maps that cause the game play to hang, without fixing the problem.  The reason we are running your maps is to try extend to you a favor to show what work you have done.  We can certainly do without them.  Just make it clear to me, the server admin what you desire.  We are not new at server administration and my patience and time for 17 maps is not finite.

Sorry if I sound gruff, but make your desires clear and I will implement them.

i'm ok with u running the maps, or even a slightly modified version of them, but i wouldnt like u to release another version. i understand u have made some changes. i'd appreciate it if u would just use your version on your server and not publish it. i have already made some changes to some maps, and i might release a v1.1 sometime this month. if u spot any other problems or if u wish me to change some things, please let me know. the more feedback, the better :)

I noticed in foundry the end button isn't returning still....the lava isn't fixed so it does burning damage (the zoneinfo and maybe also add the lava effects in), there is one surface spot being unlit near the lift activation, etc....things like that. Or other semi solid problem at toxic...or the invisible glasses in Toxic near the landing pad with skaarj shuttle, if you want I can fix all those bugs for you...if you didn't.
