Unreal Reference? Hmm, for me it looks like very unstylish and stating only things everyone know... I mean, a small tutorial that would include only the most F AQs. Like I've said, it could tell about the OMP, 227, OpenGL, OpenAL and how to configure them so it would work.
Like I said, gimme something to add and it shall be added. I don't have time to maintain it. It doesn't need to be "stylish" btw, what counts is "content", and you cannot say everyone knows all of this just because YOU do. If we have a newcomer, nobody here wants to retype the same answers to questions that have been asked in the past over and over again... comments like yours make me reconsider even offering my support for Unreal, pfft. If you know better then fine, DO better but don't just claim someone else's contribution is unneeded.

Hey, no offence. Just stating my opinion - when I first saw it, I quit immediately due to it looking ancient and unsupported. Sure, not everyone knows that, but I just don't think it's as important as the info on those things I've stated before. Sure, I can make a guide myself, just that I'm on holiday so don't have much time

It seems that OldUnreal link was added at bottom of page. Gonna see how long it will keep.

And in the meantime i am (slowly) working on a piece about the history of the URP and UTRP project, for my own site (since i want a historical overview anyway) as well as Wiki here and Wiki on Beyond Unreal.

It's not just Wiki, it's Unreal Engine Documentation Wiki

And what do you want to write about it there?

So they are asking for articles about Oldunreal and its patches in the past in magazines or online reviews. If anyone is aware of something like that, please post here.

If nothing found, you could try having Epic answer one last favor by updating
http://unreal.com/index2.html to include some information about oldunreal and patch development continuing there. It would not be a forum post so it should be a valid source on any wiki.

Hmm, too bad BeyondUnreal discontinues their Essential Files Wizard - I could request the patch on there. But instead they moved it to the LA wiki, which is probably off the reliable sources category...
But on the other hand, once you get it to final, it will really be on the news of BU - and possibly PlanetUnreal. Then it will be reliable, and all info will be OK!

From Zombies post, it seems that,
http://unreal.com/index2.html
does not exist anymore, infact Unreal.com anything.
So here's my question, Don't know what forum to put it in.
Is there or how about a 225 to 227 back and forth "Switcher ?
And I guess you are aware that this page is up,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unreal
From the topic
Wikipedia OldUnreal needs some voices it seems.

There is no way to make such a switcher- BUT - its very easy to have 2 parallel installations - such as 225 and 227 together (or maybe UnrealGold and 227, too keep one version with RTNP, doesn't matter, works with any version)
Install Unreal 225 patch
Make a copy of your Unreal/System directory
Name the copied directory to something like: System225
Open the folder and edit Unreal.ini within:
and change In
[Core.System]
Paths=..\System\*.u
to
Paths=..\System225\*.u
Install 227
227 can be started now from Unreal/System/Unreal.exe
225 can be started now from Unreal/System225/Unreal.exe
This method only requires a copy of the System directory and needs maybe ~ 100MB diskspace. For easy access you might want to add a shortcut on your destkop or startmenu.

You may also add the other System directory for the paths like I do (for custom mod files):
Paths=..\System227f\*.u
Paths=..\System\*.u
Paths=..\Maps\*.unr
Paths=..\Maps\UPak\*.unr
Paths=..\Textures\*.utx
Paths=..\Sounds\*.uax
Paths=..\Music\*.umx

Bummer I was hoping, Because Quake3 Arena has a simple switcher

Speaking of RTNP.
I never played that, my computer went down, and when I got it,
that was about the time we seen just to many aim bots and garbage.
Then just got cought up in other things.

I thought Unreal Gold had the UT type console, which back then is where alot of problems arose.
Althought there was a command in the INI to use the other console too huh?, I can't remember exactly, but once I start swimming is Unreal again.....
So I have Unreal, Totally Unreal, Unreal Gold, which is the one suggested, ?
I thought with all the problems I stuck with Unreal, and I think I downloaded Mission Pack 1 seperately somewhere either at Unreal or the OLD Nalicity....
Which I used to have a hard drive FULL of Nalicity Unreal files.
I was knowing that sometime we would lose alot of the sites so I started downloading everything I could find, saving web pages and all that. now if I just could get on that hard drive...

Hm, weird. Why would he do that? I don't see any reason in the Wikipedia history for the article. Stalwart, if you are reading this, please explain your action.
