227f Linux S3TC?

I downloaded the S3TC High End pack from UnrealTexture.com and copied them into my Textures folder. Now, when I run the game it sometimes just crashes (the log is broken right in the middle of a statement and I had a SIGSEV Segmentation Fault). Occasionally it will run fine, but when I get to the intro, several textures on the castle are a weird white brick kind of texture...
Anyone know what is going on?

What did I make a Linux forum section for?
Seems S3TC isn't correctly supported (from your card/drivers), or do you try to run it with SDLSoftDrv?
What driver do you use?

I dont have anything real to add, but yeah, if you see white/grey banding/static like textures than the renderer fails on the S3TC textures.
And it might be a stupid remark, but did you check in the render options if S3TC is set to true ?

Oh, sorry, I didn't see the Linux section.
I'm not sure what driver I'm using, I think 'radeon'. It's a Radeon 9700M on a laptop. And UseS3TC=True is set correctly on the OpenGL driver (which I'm using).

Probably you need to install the driver from ATI instead of the X11 driver to make it work then...

Yea, try getting the fglrx driver. Note that your card is of R300 series, and it's no longer supported by the latest fglrx driver, so you'll have to download the Catalyst 9.3 version, and you have to have an earlier X server version than 1.6. There is also Mesa radeon-rewrite driver, but it's brand new so not too reliable.
