It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

Man I haven't posted anything in the General section for a while...
Anyway...
I released another UMX file which is from a song called "At Night" by InsideInfo. I Remixed the song around a bit to shorten it and make it smaller in size and such, so it may not sound exactly like the original. (But I doubt anyone even knows the original )
Anyway, released on my music page with the rest of my UMX releases...check it:
And why don't you share the original ? :D
Or does it has some copy protection of some sort? (that is, legally bought music)
You should add some echo effects to it so it better fills the speakers and it isn't all mono, either delaying to the left or right, or by using the surround effect.
Since the pattern is well synchronized in this song it shouldn't be hard, I mean, I did and it sounds very well.
I could convert the entire song to stereo in 48000 hertz too...but then it would be huge. I made it low quality as to limit size for maps and servers. Of course people have client side music players and I can understand wanting it in high quality. I guess i can whip up a high quality version real quick
Alternatively use Ogg as supported on 227 FMod and ALAudio...
Honestly I don't even know how popular the songs I convert to UMX are...is it even worth going through all the conversions? If more people speak up about it, then yeah I'll do that.
btw: High Quality version for personal listening: (31 MB! )
Well, I hated when people bundled a 3 mb song that sounded like crap with a 300 kb map with UT that wasn't that good to begin with. Since at that time all I had was the classic 33,6 kbps dial up connections, it really was annoying.
But in a way it was understanbable, even though there were thousands of hi quality mods out there ( and only featured Impulse Tracker caused problem with the mod player).
I don't know, I love mods, and seeing how so much potential was lost with crappy mp3 to wav conversions.
Anyway, 31MB is too much (for a game map, that is), when I asked the original, I asked the mp3 or whatever format you had, so it could be used with the 227 patch (after the appropiate ogg conversion).
Thanks tough, the song is quite nice.

Yeap, that's the reason why in UE2 they made all music OGG and not relevant.
Changed the low quality umx one around a bit. cut off about an MB and made it mostly the beats instead of the instrumental intro. This synchronizes properly too
