Hey guys,

In windows, you can't access the server log file while unreal has it open. Please change this file lock! I know there are a lot of 227 feature requests, but this is simple and important.

Thanks a ton!

ucc server map.unr?options -params >> log.log

Read from that. UCC server is far more stable, 35+ days uptime vs 4 on same setup using -server

BUMP. Please unlock the log file so it can be opened while the server is in use.

Thanks!

Unlocking the logfile would be welcome indeed. But I don't know if it is possible. Ucc server is not a full alternative for unreal.exe -server because it has no system tray icon with access to advanced options.

The FULL log file is not available in WebAdmin. I'd also like to write scripts that can access the raw log, WebAdmin=blah.

Should be VERY easy. Just a simple change in how the file is originally opened. Ditto to UCC not being a full alternative, that tray icon is very helpful.

Simply copy the Server.log file and you can open the "copy of" version of it.

Also, why exactly do you need to read from the log? theres probably an alternative method we could use depending on what you need.

Doesn't work while in use.

This is a very simple task, hopefully it will eventually get implemented...

There are no alternative ways to accomplish what I wish to do.

That doesn't answer my question, I'd like to know.. For all I know you're going to read from the log to enter data into a database.. which IS possible. I've done it with a TCPlink, a PHP page and a mySQLdb.
