Hmm 64-bit sounds good, and I have dual-core laptop. But this one is tough, I bet it would run emulated.

Re: UMX section extractor?
Back on topic: so is anyone willing to change the current UMX songs to non-looping ones? Also, can someone explain why the tempo is constantly changing in them? One time I listen to a section, it's fast, the other time, it's veeery slow.

Re: UMX section extractor?
They do that to execute notes faster or slower depending on what the section calls for.
Unreal's Galaxy Audio Subsystem doesn't handle fast tempo\speed change commands gracefully, sometimes ignoring them or delaying the changes 1 to 3.5 seconds, completely breaking songs that use them...

The strange thing is that I use ModPlug Tracker to listen to it, and tempo changes there just as well. It seems if the tempo changes depending on the number of the section I was in previously... But that doesn't make too much sense to me.

Alexander Brandon uses that trick in alot of his songs he did for Unreal, the pace of a song changes to accommodate quick note commands, and other effects... I'm pretty sure Micheal van den Bos, did the same trick aswell, and most other demoscene artist's on the web.

Re: UMX section extractor?
Why is that so: if there's a SetTempo or SetSpeed event on the end of a pattern and you switch to another one without hitting the event, it won't change. Other than that, if a pattern doesn't have a SetTempo or SetSpeed event on the beginning of it, it'll keep the tempo (or speed) from the last patter, and if that last pattern changed the tempo/speed differently than another pattern, the patterns without the SetTempo/SetSpeed events on the beginning will sound weird.
