It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

UCC server stability vs -server
So when debugging unreal 227, I discovered something.
It seems ucc server is far more stable than -server. This was demonstrated by a {stupid} exploit I found out. UCC Server handled the crash gracefully, where unreal.exe -server just hanged. The unreal client also did the same thing, so it's likely the windows interface that has the bug. Also, since ucc server crashed instantly, the reboot script worked without a hitch, where I had to code an incredibly stupid windows app to monitor wether or not the app froze and to kill it to restart.
I initially tested this to see if i could output the UCC Server log from the terminal straight into a log using UCC Server >> Log.log, since my server was randomly hanging. But since converting over to UCC Server, the server has never once frozen, crashed or needed to be rebooted other than to be updated. It's been running for at least 20 days so far without a single problem, where with -server it'd freeze by day 3 for an unknown reason.
But I wonder.. how many people actually use ucc server, and would people benefit from knowing it's more stable..?

I use only -server for all my servers, because otherwise you don't get UnrealServer in your tray, and having a command prompt open at all times is annoying as hell.

Same, I prefer the tray console.I use only -server for all my servers, because otherwise you don't get UnrealServer in your tray, and having a command prompt open at all times is annoying as hell.
You could use Dot's WebAdmin if you use UCC, but that means having to open your internet browser every time you want to make a change.

I'll dig up an old version of Darxplorer when I get the chance, it's a lot faster than anything else. You could use Dot's WebAdmin if you use UCC, but that means having to open your internet browser every time you want to make a change.

By the way, interesting fact that you can use -server even on Dedicated Server releases of games, but you have to copy the game binary from a normal install.
