I need clarification on the surround sound system in Unreal (vanilla Gold, that is, with the lateset official patch).
I was reading this page: http://unreal.epicgames.com/Audio.htm, which states:
"...Dolby Surround Sound positioning (if UseSurround is enabled)...
...Dolby SurroundSound software encoding requires a Dolby decoder and four speakers, but it works on all stereo sound cards. It simply pans sound effects and ambient environment sounds between the four Dolby channels (center, rear, left, and right)."
Does this mean that Unreal can internally encode a Dolby format (Pro-Logic, if those four channels are anything to go by)???
Thanks.
