Is it possible to assign a key to toggle crouching on or off, or walking on or off in Unreal?

No, you have to hold whatever button you assigned walk and crouch to.

try binding a key to 'toggle button bwalk' or 'toggle button bduck'. haven't tried it myself though.

Using this as a basis for some trial and error, I got toggle crouch to work by assigning 'Toggle bDuck' to a key. The same method (nor 'toggle button bwalk' or 'toggle button bwalking') wasn't successful for walking though.

Oops. Just checked the INI. Try bRun.

Worked like a charm, thanks a lot for your help. And just in case anyone else scans this thread in the future it's:

Toggle bDuck
Toggle bRun

to bind keys for toggling crouch/stand and run/walk.

Yeap, exactly. Toggle bDuck is also called Unreal II crouch style, as it is an official option there.

Dang, I didn't know you could do that. The same works for BehindView as well, right? Heh, I remember making two .txt files to achieve a behindview toggle effect.

I set one to do behindview 1, then made it bind "exec .txt" to the same key. I did the same with the other file except it did behindview 0 and set "exec .txt" so that it would alternate.

On another note, I've always wanted to bDuck! I don't really like bHuman all the time. It's boring.

I think I killed the joke :X

For me, bDark=True=const.

In newer Unreal versions, you even have an option to use ToggleBehindView.

Well, Toggle BehindView and ToggleBehindView are pretty much the same, aren't they? ;)

There's actually a much better way of doing this without binding keys.Edit the User.ini file (works on EVERY unreal game or unreal licensee game)

and change these lines

Code: Select all

Aliases[9]=(Command="Button bDuck | Axis aUp Speed=-300.0",Alias=Duck)
Aliases[18]=(Command="Button bRun",Alias=Walking)
Just replace the word "Button" with "Toggle" and VOIALA! :)
