Post by Spazzpez »

Hey, I was at the tutorials section of Oldunreal, and whenever i clicked to download, it redirected me to the Denied page, http://www.oldunreal.com/denied.htm, I tried this with the other downloads as well, Is something wrong with the website, or is it just me?

What doesn't work for you? Also, make sure you open the links in the same window, not in a new one.

It works for me. However, if you tried to hotlink the files there, that'll lead you to that page.

thats weird, this "denied" message should only happen if the link was refered from other pages than oldunreal. I needed to protect it because of humongous download traffic from foreign pages which used it without permission.
Checked it and works fine for me...mmh...

I have Fx3 and I have this error every time I'm trying to download a file. I don't recall to have this error before though.

Strange I have this "denied" error in Tutorials, patches (OMP and official), while 227 and Editing Tools works fine. Didn't have time to test the rest (exam tomorrow).

I don't know what is exactly causing the problem if you're not hotlinking to the pages/files from other servers. Nobody knows.

Whatever the bug is, it would be a hundred times easier to fix it with Smirf's help, but since is not at a good health condition now, we shouldn't involve him into this.

Another thing; do you have the "AVG search toolbar"... That thing seems troublesome.

I did not know smirf wasnt in a good health condition, Get well soon Smirf! And yea, its probably good that we do not involve him in this, unless absolutley necessary.

and no sir, I do not, i dont like toolbars, its all bleh to me. worthless in my opinion.

Yeah, I think the same. If you accidentally install AVG search toolbar, I'd recommend to disable it. (Of course, when you download a file, scan it for viruses, but don't have the toolbar, because it cleares whole cache on Firefox exit.)

Another thing: do you have problems only at OldUnreal or you've encountered similar problems elsewhere?
