It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

Hi all, you all probably know that Blackcheetah made Onslaught mod for UT99(with VCTF mode as well). I asked him on ModDB site is there any chance that he would port it to Unreal 1 as well? Didn't suppose that he will answer anything else than "no way man" or something like that.

But..., he did. He answered me:
"I don't have Unreal, but I could get it and import it to there :)"

I was surprised, and of course very happy. Here's the [url=http://www.moddb.com/mods/onslaught-ut]link[/url] to mod's page on ModDB. Check comments, mine are on the very top. Please tell him that Unreal 1 community will really like to see this mod for U1, I guess it's true.

Btw. I think it'll be nice for him to hear that other community members will also like to have this mod for U1, so..., go there and comment if you agree with me :).

It's possible. We already have vehicles for Unreal 1 courtesy of .:..: (Dots) and some other people helping him. We also know the U1 engine is capable of [extremely primitive] Karma-like physics, also by Dots. I don't see why the engine is incapable of something like Onslaught. I mean seriously, UT runs on the same Engine as Unreal 1, only slightly modified.

The only problem he might run into is the vehicle and PowerCore models having a tad too many polys. Other than that, it's possible.

Haven't kept that thread up to date but I'm still working on it (but currently its 'on hold' until 227f comes out).

Hmm, didn't know about it. I think .:..: should talk with Blackcheetah(contact him somehow) and maybe work together or we will have two onslaught mods, it's not bad either. Personally I like Blackcheetah's mod very much as fas as I've seen it. Anyway, let's hope everything'll go well, this way or another :).

And I wait for some information from Blackcheetah, I think he didn't get U1 yet.

Let's hope it's better than the UT one. I know it was beta, but it was almost unplayable due to the vehicles jerking around as I turned the camera, not to mention the lag. Blackcheetah could really learn a thing or two from Dots about vehicles. I mean, his vehicles are decent, but Dots' are easier to handle.

maybe quaternion support in 227 can help with a few things also

maybe quaternion support in 227 can help with a few things also
Unreal already (AFAIK) supports quaternion. I believe Dots used a bit in the newer version of his Vehicles mod.
