I remade the UT3 Splash screen!

Hi guys. Another thread by me. YAY!

Anyway, one day I decided to browse the UT3 threads on Epic's forums, and on a thread about tips and tweaks on UT3, I found out how to change the Splash screen for it. Normally with other Unreals you could just go to the Help folder, rename the old splash, and put the new one with the old splash's name. Well, it's the same with UT3, except you go to C:\Program Files\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Splash\PC instead. But enough of that. When I read the thread, I thought "Hmmm... maybe I should edit the old UT99 splash screen for UT3." Well, I did just that.

Behold, my attempt to make UT3 more retro than it needs to be:

Yes, I know the U symbol is blurry. Blame GIMP. If you have any suggestions on improving the image, tell me.

Not bad. I'm not a big fan of the newer U logo, I prefer the original one, but that's pretty cool.

+1. You need to practise. At least add a glass effect or something, and get a high detail logo.

Looks pretty good. What might add to it abit ... the 3 red 'blood' slashes could've left little droplets on the lettering below. That would add abit of red to the lower parts of the logo, which may balance the image a touch more. In that way the newer stuff will blend with the older a wee bit better. Of course, that's just one man's opinion.

Well, even though the little blood drips are already dripping onto the letters, they're really hard to see, so I see what you mean. I'll see what I can do. Just not now, 'cause I don't really feel like doing anything on GIMP for a while.

Maybe even on the lower edge of the "plate" too. I think you've got the idea though. Like I previously said ... keep up the good work.
