Go to area 51 in DX1 and look at the clones in the tubes. Alex D. /spoilersAbout DX2: yeah, I tried that b$ a few years ago and was like, 'WTFBBQ WHAT DOES THIS CR@P TO DO WITH DX?'

Yea, you're not the only ones too. My PC is now in the service depot, guess the fan of the CPU (U - unit, not usageYou're not the only one. My WLAN was kicking my laptop out, ok now has stopped, but I have some "Internet Gateway" connection on my comp that I can't remove.
Damn windows!
True. Those consoles are no good. Actually, I wouldn't mind, if only those who port games from consoles would do an actual fine job on that. But they don't. Porting should be quite a bit like remaking. The requirements of console and PC players are different. Console players are basically those who want everything work out-of-the-box. While PC players are generally those who like a bit of configuration and changing settings to match their needs - even getting a PC is configuring, as building one is a lot better than buying a pre-made one already. So that slider thing in UT3 is really stupid. What gives if I want to have less blur in water, but overall bloom is good for me? And if the next time I touch the slider, everything resets? The whole thing is :

I just read the last page and came upon this post. How do you suck flawlessly...? Do you, like, suck so much that nothing good is there? Kind of like flawless victory where you win without anything bad happening. i think I just answered my own question.Good, now you can play and face the hard reality that is UT3 sucks flawlessly.
Did it ever occur to you that maybe they may be held back due to the fact that there's a depression going on right now? Midway already had to fire some of their employees and stop development on all of their non-core games.Yes. But UT3 still doesn't run on linux or mac, after nearly a full year of life. How great is it.
Doing things like the above is great and also a good way to learn.Well darn, I gotta let my parents know about building a PC for my little brother. We have Windows XP and everything. Hell, we have an ancient computer sitting in my little brother's room. Maybe we can buy new parts for it and beef it up. I gotta pass that idea to my dad sometime, heh.
EDIT: Wait, you can't get somebody to do it for you? Well, that'd probably cost more, I guess.
Yes there are. But,you better have an inkling when it comes to configuration. And, there are tutorials on that on the Internet.
Google is your friend.
Very true. And actually, configuration is also one big plus of Linux: you an basically change anything you want, if not through GUI, then from the console, if not through console, then by scripting. And Windows has nothing more than that Control Panel and Microsoft Management Console (Run->MMC, but many of those settings are also obsolete or do no difference), and thus you can't change absolutely anything interesting. Like, to get your desktop show random pictures each hour, on Linux you only need to open Desktop Properties and set it to do so. While in Windows you at least need a whole new program...Yeah, PC's are troublesome with all that configuring and stuff, but with some working on a game you pretty much can get it to work (not often).

Well, usually the points A and C aren't absolutely required, as long as you have a strong B and you take your time to read the manualLol,yes, building your own is most awesome...but,and I do mean BUT!
Do not attempt this unless
A.You know what you're doing.
B.You have the patience of JOB.
C.You have a tech support system including being able to talk live with them.
If you meet those basic requirements then hell yes, build baby BUILD!
Yeap. Throwing away old PCs is the most pathetic thing to do.Well darn, I gotta let my parents know about building a PC for my little brother. We have Windows XP and everything. Hell, we have an ancient computer sitting in my little brother's room. Maybe we can buy new parts for it and beef it up. I gotta pass that idea to my dad sometime, heh.
