I'm sick of this. I am ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED at this. What am I talking about? UT3. UT3 freaking sucks. Why? I have tried to play this game ALL DAY and it kept CRASHING like you wouldn't FREAKING BELIEVE. And the wierdest part is, I was able to play it FLAWLESSLY YESTERDAY!! WHAT THE HELL!!! This is the ONLY FREAKING Unreal game that I CANNOT play. We Unreal fans have gotten quality products from you for 9 years up until this game was released, and now you decided to kick us in the balls.

Now let me tell you, I genuinely love(d) this game. I love(d) it so much that after playing the Demo every single day on the exact same map over and over NONSTOP, even playing until the SUN CAME UP, I actually went out with my mother and bought it from Gamestop for $20. I love(d) it so much that I have been literally doing nothing on this computer but trying to find a way to fix it. Thank God it was only $20, because this game ABSOLUTELY REFUSES to let me play.

I have been listening to other people complain about this game. Nevertheless, I still bought it. I love it that much, and now they're repaying me by kicking me in the nuts over and over again whilst stabbing me and pouring salt into the stab wounds.

I have followed SEVERAL DIFFERENT TUTORIALS on how to fix this problem, AND IT STILL REFUSES TO LET ME PLAY!!! I constantly get "UT3 has encountered an error and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Sorry? Sorry my left nut! YOU'RE CRASHING IT ON PURPOSE. STUPID GAME.

This is the biggest middle finger I've ever gotten from anybody. I hope to God anyone involved with the creation of this game, even by the conceiving of it, dies and burns in the deepest pits of Hell.

And as such, Epic, you have officially lost respect from me, and are now lower on my list of favorite game developers. The reason you're not on my hate list is because you created Unreal 1. Had it not been for that game, I would be headed to your headquarters with a jackhammer. I live in the same state as you. And I know where you're located...

I'd like you to know that I've completely deleted any files that have to do with the full game off of my computer, settings and all. I have manually deleted all of the files and even ran the installer to be sure I got every last bit of it.

This is all coming from someone who could not stop talking about how great this game would be when I get the full version. This is coming from someone who could not wait to get home to pop it in to play it. This is coming from someone who would give up playing Unreal 1 and every single video game I have for a year just to play this game for a month.

With that said, Epic Games, I hope you all go to hell for eternity.

I had alot of issues with it as well, but no chrashes, mine were solved by installing the latest patch, did you try that ?

Yes, I just installed the new patch. I totally cleared out any files relating to UT3 so that all the settings would be reset. I then installed patch 1.3 and ran the game. At first, nothing bad happened. I started up Warfare and grappled a Goliath while on the hoverboard, and the game froze and restarted my computer AGAIN. I just punched the screen and stormed off (and by stormed off I mean "burst out of my room almost in a primal rage"). My little brother went to play on the comp and came back to tell me that the computer stopped working. Thanks UT3! Not only did you torture me by not letting me play you, you go and break my computer! TERRIFIC!!!

Currently I'm doing all this in Safe Mode with networking enabled. I'm trying to transfer all my important files (and by important files I mean "all files for Into the Abyss, my Unreal LP videos, all the music I made, all the stories I wrote, all save files for Unreal 1, and several other "important" files) to a CD, but I CANNOT FIND THE RIGHT CD TO PUT THEM ON!!! My mother and I bought a set of DVD-RW disks thinking it would work, BUT NO!! It gives me the "There's no disk instered into the slot, dumbass" bullcrap. More wasted money FTMFW!!!!111

I swear to God if I didn't know any better, I'd say someone down there is really having fun with me these past two days. Good thing I have enough common sense to know that Suicide is the most retarded option anyone could think of.

The only option I have left is to put all the files I want to keep in a .RAR, upload it to my website, and then download it onto my Dad's computer and then use his computer to transfer them to the disk. It worked before, and it'll work again.

What's your comp ? My machine had bad ideas when i tried UT3's demo with an outdated rig. Randomly froze for 10/15 secondes every 25/30 secondes, then restart the computer. Maybee it jus can't handle it.

As to the computer restarting suddenly while not asked to, I had it with a dead RAM module. It just randomly restarted after a few hours, faster if I had something intensive running.

OR........... it's both. The hardware is incompatible with the software, and the software should be able to fix that. barring different drivers/devices, its likely its just bad coding on either party, or maybe they both had bad coding, and it just fux0rs.

My computer is literally the bare minimum on the minimum system requirements. The Demo ran flawlessly, hell, even the FULL GAME ran flawlessly for a time. Why did it suddenly decide to screw up the next day?

Well there's no Linux/Mac version of UT3 yet, so that's out of the question.

One thing I did think of though, is that maybe if I reformat the computer (after transferring the my important files, of course), UT3 may have a chance to run without tons of needless programs running in the background, not to mention the effects of unknown viruses may also affect it.

You're not the only one. My WLAN was kicking my laptop out, ok now has stopped, but I have some "Internet Gateway" connection on my comp that I can't remove.

After much (MUCH) research, I figured out the problem was NOT UT3, but the new nVidia card I bought. It turns out the restarts (which were BSoDs in disguise) were caused by the display driver (otherwise known as the infamous nv4_disp.dll). It seemed like everybody with an nVidia card was having this problem. Some of them have upgraded their RAM and the restarts/BSoDs permanently ceased.

The conclusion matched that of yours, HellKeeper/Darksider: "Needs more RAM. Maybe a couple o' bags of chips" (guess the reference ). With that, I have found an $18 1GB RAM upgrade for my eMachines T3522.

P.S.: I also found out that my OS disk comes with an option to backup all of my files and then turn back all settings and such to factory defaults. Therefore, all my important files (map pack, playthrough and all) are safe

lets face it people.. UT3 was simply a game built for the "playshitstation 3 console" and nothing else.  No support for the PC whatsoever.  It's okay though, because I'm sure epic already sees the message by the number counts on the server list that the general public was appauled by the PC release.  Not to mention, most of the people who bought a playshitstion 3 are complete retards.

Will we see change? who knows? ...

I hate consoles a little more than I should because Halo lowered everyones requirements for first person shooters and thus made a ton of games really lame because companies didn't have to work as hard. As far as im concerned, Doom has better gameplay mechanics than halo.

I also hate that bioshock was released for the consoles, thus dumbing down the overall gameplay and atmosphere, to the point where I wish it wasn't made even if it is a "spiritual successor" to system shock 2.

The whole thing is :

To play an FPS, you need a mouse and a keyboard. Otherwise, it's basically a doomish "run and shoot" crap, as you have much less control, can't aim as well, will have slow movements... On a console, PAD =/= Kbd/Mouse.

All these f*cker in the industry took a lot of efforts to issue more and more FPS on consoles. As it's much harder to play on a console, gameplay is tuned down, simplified and reduced. Tried Q3 on dreamcast ? A joke. Halo ? Corridors, monster, corridor, monster, corridor, monster, a voice tells you to go forward, corridor, monsters...

Last really GOOD games in the FPS world ? Stalker (PC only), Crysis (PC only), HL2 (Not sure if there was a console version, but people only remember the PC one anyway), TF2 and L4D (PC only), UT2004 (PC only), Quake Wars (not much success, but worse on Console).

Games from console brought to PC and found to be huge cr*p when played "normally" : DX2, GOW (I think), Bioshock (Hum, yeah, beautiful, but I like games to be more than beautiful), UT3 (Don't even get me starting).

So the fact that games now mad more and more for console is a problem, since it requires your game to be overly simplified to be played. Hence a lack of good titles, very bad sequels to previous games (DX2/UT3 ?), bad sales on PC (because it's cr*p, obviously a poor PC porting of the game).

Since they sell less titles on PC, people in the industry are thinking "It's not working on PC ? let's make it CONSOLE ONLY §§!!§!!§!!§!§!!!!§!11§!§!§1!1!one".

The games get worse and worse and worse and worse to be playable on a console. Much games turn into console-only sequels. If asked anything, they universally reply "PROBLEM ON PC IS PIRACY IT'S KILLING US BAWWWWWWWWWWW §§!§".

In the end, I am enjoying 4 games at the moment. Unreal, which is fairly OLD by now, UT2004 (PC only), dying because of it's sequel (which is already dead as a matter of fact), Stalker (PC only franchise) and Warsow (PC only game made by a non-professional team, and whose gameplay would be impossible to have on a console).

Logical conclusion of all this post : I like FPS, so I hate consoles.
