OldUnreal (Engine)

I got an e-mail of someone who wants to get a rented Unreal server but it seems nobody is offering this service anymore. TNN used to have this service, and Unreal is still listed at their main page, but when you try to order one, it reads:

"We apologize, but due to configuration of our system, we cannot process orders at this time. Please check back."

Also, their prices seem to be quite high at the moment, with $24.00/month for an 8-slot Unreal server. (In comparison, their 8-slot UT99 server only costs $8.00/month)

So, what are the options at this moment for someone who wants to rent an Unreal server? (And probably cannot locally host a server because of dial up or technical limitations)

Try emailing guys who host UT and say you want unreal instead, you might have to mail them a legit copy of unreal but then that would open up another service for him

I've been trying that method, but so far, haven't gotten anywhere.

Best (and only?) way to host an Unreal 1 server is to rent a dedicated server machine, although its not the cheapest method.

still offer it i think- at least some inf servers are there, however the server interface is pain and updates to new versions like 227 are only possible with direct interaction with the server maintenance team.

I could probably host servers for people. Well, not me in-particular, but i have one of my clan members (Socket1) hosting the Evolution Revolution servers for me, since i can't do it anymore. (He goes to the same school as me )

I'm sure he wouldn't mind hosting servers as long as he gets paid/payed

Jolt could probably help you out for a normal deathmatch server.
Although i have a feeling you want to use it as a coop server?With much greater resourse use.

I assume you have to email them about switching to unreal 1.. if so, DAMN thats cheap.

Any idea if they'll let you change tickrate or upgrade to 227 without going crazy?

Thats who I use and I use 45-50 tickrates with 227 in the }A{ INF server.

BTW I told DP about it on MSN yesterday.

Yep, I got an unreal 1 server set up through them now. Thanks goes to everyone that has helped me out with this! I should have my coop server up sometime this weekend

Our server has been up for about a week, and it is running pretty smooth, just wanted to thank everyone again for the help.
