It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

I have two things to ask.

One: I've tried the quadshot fixes from the download page but none of them seem to work for me. Anything that should work guaranteed to fix this?

Two: Years ago (before I even interacted online) when I would get a shieldbelt it would show the shield around my weapon in first person view. It suddenly stopped showing the shield around my weapon. Is it possible to get that back?

Any help would be appreciated.

227 has a good fix for the quadshot.

iirc, this is a "low detail" effect so you'd have to turn low detail mode on

My comp can only render it with PowerVR SGL drivers. :o

In UT99, EnhancedWeapons mutator lets you see your shieldbelt on the weapon...

As far as i know this is a bug in 225f and was removed in 226Final, and i asume Smirftsch took that over from 226. If you patch your game 224(and below) with patch 225f than the glitch will apear and will make the your gun have a shiny metal goldisch apearence. See picture below:

And i never thought of it, but its actually very interesting, because it shows the capability of Unreal to have a metal reflective metal surface which only returned into UT2003(i know for sure UT2004 has it) and higher. Again it points to what unreal is capable of, and maybe should be implemented in 227 so mappers can create shiny metal surfaces in certain map areas.

that effect is bMeshEnviromap true on display with it's texture

Can't find bMeshEnviromap in Unreal.ini. Where can I find it?

So, that's like UV2Texture in UT2003 and HighDetailOverlay in UT2004? Specularity mask? Pretty cool. And yes, that appears in Dots' UT2004 Unreal Game just as well. Makes my UT2004 weapons all metal lol!

You're using software mode? Note that dots said EITHER, depending on your renderer.

I'll find out how to make it happen. But in the meantime why does it show the shield around the weapons and then just stops doing that?

Hmm, I would always get a yellow matte effect on shieldbelt pickup, then after a second has passed, it became orange. :-?
