Strange Sound !?
Hi,
I have strange sound in Unreal. Have installed v227e. Don't know for how long this problem exists but I noticed it recently.
See (and hear) for yourself:
I have played with "Ambient factor" and "doppler effect" in Sound option (Al-Audio) but with no luck.

Re: Strange Sound !?
Please describe the sound to me (I have too slow connection for YouTube).
Is it something like "flanger" effect? Cuz I get something like that always.
The only visible solution was to switch back to Galaxy.

Re: Strange Sound !?
No difference
Sounds like a doppler effect, but much too strong.
Edit: Yes, HeadShot you were right
Changing to FMod fixed it, but I forgot to restart Unreal.

Re: Strange Sound !?
Lol my sound card is acting weird... always.
When I run Postal2STP and set to "Hardware Audio", the doppler goes "woah!" and there is no way to lower it.
Gotta buy a new soundcard...
This one is good but not very compatible (it's on-board) so I'm not going to remove it. So, if I buy a new card, I'll post the difference in the sound between this on-board one and the not-on-board one.

Re: Strange Sound !?
hehe that reminds me back to Unreal 1.0
When you killed a bot with the dispersionspistol while the amplefiere was activated the sound pitch changed by walking backward or forward =)

Umm, well, go play Unreal II, it has a very nice doppler effect that adds a lot to the feeling of flying.
