OldUnreal (Engine)

Hello, Hello.
We're looking for links, websites, programs whatever,
to view live servers either having to know the IP,
or all servers or anything like that, for Unreal Ofcourse.

Unreal has a built-in server browser. You can also use Gamespy 3D, Gamespy Arcade, Gamespy lite for Unreal and QTracker.

Yea I remember those, I was looking at Gamespy, but it seems they
want you to pay/subscribe.

There use to be these programs called AXPLUG, and Q3Plug, and you make a basic webpage with some code to use the plug,
add what ever Server Ip you want to see and it works great
right from your desktop, I have them, but they quit working,
plus they install/use an ActiveX. Not Real big deal but....

I have no idea if there are any existing programs/PHP scripts/anything to do this, but it's possible to make your own. You'd have to query the master server(s) and get a list of server IPs, then request server information from those IPs. I have no idea where you could find a description of the protocol used in those two steps though. It's almost certainly available though, since there are inofficial master servers now.

Also, gamespy requires registration but unless they've changed in the last 5 years or so, it should be free.

You can download GameSpy Lite for Unreal from my site, give it a fake link to Unreal.exe and you can query anything.

Code wars!

I have 2 programs that I use to use, they are open source, the projects are old and open for someone to take over,
I recently tried to use one and It worked for a day,
all of a sudden I get some "overflow" "and "runtime" error.
There are 2 ways to install the one I use, I just used the one
where you make a basic html page in notepad, add the code and
server IP and port save it in the same folder as the cab, or activex and it ran fine (until the error) used to wrok perfectly on Win98Se.
Just run it from your desktop or a folder, just like your own web page.

The one i Use is AXPLUG, a port from Q3PLUG, I actually use them both, but I think Axplug was more compatible for Unreal or something.

It should be as simple as getting the
AXPLUG-Beta4-StandardSetup.zip
edit the4 ss2.html with the server type UN and the a IP and port,
save open up give it a sec, should install the activex, and work, un less you need VB or the IE fix.

If you look there are 2 types of setups.
AXPLUG-Beta4-InternetSetup.zip
Which is I believe, you just make the page and run it. no install other than the activex.

AXPLUG-Beta4-StandardSetup.zip
Which I don't think I have ever used, but I might try,
This wants to Install as a program.
So what's the difference ? I don't know.

I also seem recently an old program I never tried called QSTAT ? I believe.

I alos used to use this Xplug which is a little newer, but It's an .exe so I stay away from installing anything the best i can anymore. to keep programs and clutter down.

Hey CrackeR, forgot to mention, I frequent alot of sites and forums,
My unreal has been down for about 4 years, but I still "watch"
from a far. Other than BCR, since we are I believe the longest Inf server or close, around and maybe Unreal too. Just getting back into it...
I miss Co30, playland, Nordic, SOB and many more

Shambler had the idea of using qstat. I have never tried to set this up but maybe you can make sense of it. You can find it here :
